Round Brocade Knot with Overlapped Outer Loops
The knotting technique of this modified knot is the same as for the round brocade
knot with compound outer loops (pages 59–60) except that the knotting sequence of
certain ear loops is changed in order to emphasize the overlapped loops. The butter-
fly knot with overlapped outer loops shown here is done by wrapping the tenth and
fourth ear loops.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Make ear loop 1. Step 2. Make ear loop 3 and pull through 1. Step 3. Make ear
loop 2, pull through 1 and wrap around 3. Step 4. Make ear loop 4 and pull through
1, 2 and 3. Step 5. Make ear loop 5 and pull through 1, 2, 3 and 4. Step 6. Make ear
loop 6 and pull through 2, 3, 4 and 5. Step 7. Make ear loop 7, pull through 3, 4, 5 and
6 and wrap around 1. Step 8. Make ear loop 9, pull through 5, 6 and 7 and wrap
around 1, 2 and 3. Step 9.Make ear loop 8, pull through 4, 5, 6 and 7 and wrap around
9, 1 and 2. Step 10. Make ear loop 10, pull through 6, 7, 8 and 9 and wrap around 1,
2, 3 and 4.
