NZ Fire Service Frequencies
National Rural Fire Authority Circular 1999/6 details ESB Band Radio
use on Rural Fire Grounds for “Air Operations.” Air Operators should
be advised that the radio frequencies required in their ESB Band
Radios are:
1. “Liaison” also channel 10, Simplex frequency 140.9875 Mhz NBFM

2. “Fire 4” Simplex frequency 140.6125 Mhz NBFM. (Aircraft.)
It would be desirable (in the priority order set out) if they could also
operate on:
} Mostly
3. “Fire 3” Simplex frequency 140.9250 Mhz NBFM
4. “Fire 2” Simplex frequency 143.7875 Mhz NBFM ground based

5. “Fire 1” Simplex frequency 143.8250 Mhz NBFM. operations.
These radio frequencies are within the communications capability
of the following organisations: Department of Conservation,
Ministry of Defence, Civil Defence, Ambulance, New Zealand
Fire Service and Territorial Local Authorities.
