New Mom Ready for Race Season to Begin
Alex Gay started racing four cylinders when she was 18 years old and moved up to street stock. Her dad started racing enduros when she was born and switched to street stock later. Her love for cars grew more and more watching him race her whole life.
“I love going to new race tracks and auto shows. I enjoy looking at the trucks, bikes, and street cars. I was anxiously awaiting the approaching 2018 race season when I found out I was almost 4 months pregnant with my first baby. We had put a lot of time and work into the car over the winter but I had to sit another season before I come back and race.” she said.
Alex’s marketing partners are Elite Tradeshow Services (Plainfield, IL) and Laser Products Industries (Romeoville, IL).
Besides her dad, Alex was inspired to start rac- ing by a few women actresses that played in the Disney movies, “Motocrossed” and “Right On Track”.

Alex has an awesome pit crew to help with her car and they include: her dad, Joe, Pat, Tommy, Dave, Scott, Jimmy, Kurt, & Gavin.
Her best finish was when she won her first heat and feature in the same night in the pure stocks division. “I was on Cloud 9 for sure.” She races at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL. She drives an 84 Chevy Monte Carlo SS, and races in the Street Stocks on a 1/3 mile asphalt track.
Alex’s goal is to get paid to do what she loves- rac- ing cars. She also thinks dirt off road trucks would be living the dream too. Her race day routine includes eating chicken strips.
Aside from racing Alex loves traveling, camping, going to race tracks, watching her boyfriend race moto- cross, spending time with family, reading, and playing with her puppies. Her favorite food is chicken!
Alex works an office job with her mom. Her co-workers and boss actually race RC cars and are one of her sponsors. “Luckily, they get what I’m talking about and understand when I need Friday’s off in the summer sea- sons.” she said.
Alex has majored in Criminal Justice at a communi- ty college because she loves history, the judicial and crimi- nal system, and forensics.
Alex’s long term career goal is to make it to NA- SCAR.
And finally, Alex shared that she has suffered from chronic Lyme Disease for more than 10 years undiagnosed until recently. “My whole life has been a struggle due to that little tick bite from summer camp when I was younger. Please educate and check out the ilads.org website for info and doctors.
