Clovelly Dykes. Immediately after leaving the r/bout look for Clovelly Dykes. This is one of the
largest and most impressive early Iron Age hill forts in Devon. It is however, on private land. For

Continuing west on the A39 towards Bude . . .
13.9 mi 50.8311, -4.5191 Pass through Stratton, a jumble of quaint houses on narrow
streets. The Tree Inn (50.8302,-4.5141) in Fore St is particularly notable.
0.5 mi For Bude turn r. on to the B3072 s/posted “Bude 1 1/2 / B3072”, or continue str. ahd for
Boscastle and Wadebridge.
Expert Navigator checkpoint: Look for a tall steel tower that looks like a high tension power
tower (it’s a microwave repeater station) on the left. The turn off to Boscastle and Tintagel is
about 100m past it on the r.

B3263 s/posted “Boscastle B3263”
The B3263 will take you through Boscastle and Tintagel.

From Tintagel to continue westwards towards Wadebridge, take the B3263 and B3266″ back to
the A39.

If you gave Boscastle and Tintagel a miss then Valley Truckle would be 8.3 miles from the turn-off
to Boscastle and Tintagel.

If you want to go into Wadebridge, take the 2nd exit on to the B3314.

Follow the A389 into Padstow.
Continuing on the A39 . . .
9.2 mi 50.3943,-4.9226 Follow the A39 to the r/bout at the A30 near a village with the unlikely
name of Indian Queens.
Take the 4th exit on to the A30 s/posted “Redruth A30 / Truro (A39)”.
