To get to the main street make your way from the carpark to Northway (look for the Cirencester
Courthouse and The Bear Inn on the left) and follow it around to Dyer St. Market Pl is to the left at
the Dyer St intersection.
Cirencester to Bath
Getting out of Cirencester on the road towards Bath isn’t easy.
When you are ready to leave Cirencester, assuming you have parked in the Forum Car Park go
back down South Way and go str. ahd into Tower St.
Take the next left into the Avenue.
Then left again with Bennett’s Garage in front of you. It will be on your right as you make the turn
into Victoria St.
Go down to the traffic lights and turn right.
At the r/bout about 200yds later take the 3rd exit s/posted to “The South West / Stroud / Swindon
A419”.
Expert navigator checkpoint: As you take that exit you will pass underneath a footbridge.
If all that fails, or if you are starting from somewhere else just head to this point:
0.0 mi 51.7173,-1.9591 You are now on the A429 which loops around the south east side of the
town. Follow signs to “Bath / Tetbury A433”.
3.2 mi 51.7011,-2.0005 Go str. ahd on to the A433.
8.4 mi 51.6370,-2.1594 In Tetbury, at the small r/bout in the centre of the town turn right on to
Church St, following a s/post “Bristol / Bath A433”.
Expert navigator checkpoint: At that small flush r/bout there is an interesting yellow building str
ahd of you, set up high on Grecian columns. You’ll turn right, in front of it.
3.2 mi 51.6056,-2.2092 Entrance to Westonbirt, the National Arboretum.
4.6 mi 51.5753,-2.3019 Bear left on to the A46, s/posted “Bath A46 / Bristol”.
13.5 mi 51.4033,-2.3390 As you enter Bath on the A4 you’ll go through what looks like a tunnel.
It’s actually a large over bridge. As you do so, get into the left hand lane and follow signs that say
“Bath A4 / Warminster (A36)”.
That will take you up an exit ramp from the A46.
0.4 mi 51.3983, -2.3370 Take the 3rd exit from the r/bout s/posted “Bath / A4 / Warminster (A36)”
on to London Road.
In the centre of Bath. Look for a sign on the left that indicates short stay parking to the left, long
stay parking to the right which also says “All attractions” . Best to bear right and look for the long
stay carparks. There are two of them – Charlotte and Podium. Take your pick but Charlotte St is
probably closer to the main attractions in the city centre.
