Planning Your Journey
Following the various options from the south, you will have arrived in the Scottish capital,
Edinburgh. From there you can choose your onwards path.
1: Edinburgh To Lochearnhead I would strongly suggest this trip north through Stirling to
Lochearnhead and back, if only because it gets you in to the southern-most reaches of the
Scottish Highlands. Route 1 on the map. Detils on the opposite page.
You could do it in a day, but take a couple of days and see more and do more.
From Lochearnhead you have a choice of routes south again –
2: Lochearnhead To Stirling Back to Stirling through Strathyre, the north eastern edge of the
Trossachs National Park. Route 3 on the map
3: Lochearnhead To Glasgow either through Strathyre and the north eastern edge of the
Trossachs National Park, or further west in the Trossachs, following the shores of Loch Lomond
Via Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Route 4 on the map
A more direct way via the Strathyre Region Routes 3 and 2 on the map
