Tinwood Estate Wines Newly established vineyard with the first plantings in 2007 but already
producing a good line of sparkling and rose wines. Wine tasting tours guided by the winemakers.

Tangmere Miltitary Aviation Museum. Home to an impressive display of historic aircraft and a
unique collection of aviation memorabilia stretching from the First World War through to the Cold
War. Amongst the many attractions are numerous interactive displays and several aircraft
simulators for visitors to experience. The collection of military aircraft includes two past holders of
the World Air Speed Record. You’ll find it signposted off the A27 as you approach the city.
Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens. The largest Roman home in Britain with stunning mosaic
floors, museum, Collections Discovery Centre and formal garden. Daily guided tours, cafe, picnic
area and parking.
Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. The museum, located in Singleton near Chichester,
houses a collection of over fifty historic dwellings, workshops and rural buildings. Each has been
rescued from various locations in Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire and carefully re-erected in
the heart of the South Downs National Park. The buildings span 600 years and evoke ordinary
people’s lives through the ages. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the real downland
experience.

Winchester
The area around Winchester has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with three Iron Age
hillforts, Oram’s Arbour, St. Catherine’s Hill, and Worthy Down all in the nearby vicinity. It
was an important city in Roman times.

Winchester Cathedral A place of worship for over 900 years,
Winchester’s world-famous cathedral is as remarkable for its
hidden treasures – Anthony Gormley’s Sound II (a
mysterious life-size statue of a man contemplating the water
held in his cupped hands), the Winchester Bible and Jane
Austen’s tomb, as it is for its spectacular architecture.
The Great Hall and King Arthur’s Round Table Winchester
is famous for its legendary Arthurian Round table, a striking
sight well worth visiting in The Great Hall – the only
remaining part of Winchester Castle.
Winchester College Believed to be the oldest continuously running school in the country,
Winchester College boasts some illustrious alumni including Douglas Jardine, Lord Howe and
Anthony Trollope.
Winchester Painted Bollards. Among the more esoteric things one can see in the
city is a collection of 24 painted bollards on the corner of Great Minster Street and
The Square, painted by The Colour Factory at the behest of Winchester City Council,
in the style of famous artists, or with topical scenes. This one, for instance is in the
style of Beasts of the Sea, by Henri Matisse.
