THE ENEMY IN-A-ME

bible says, ‘But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and
baited by his own evil desire, lust and passions.’ [James 1:14] It's a matter of
control and discipline. Can God trust you to control your own drive?

One of the indications of this man's problem is that nobody could get him to
stop. You are so slick; you can slip past anybody if you have to. Just like a
hunter, sitting up in the tree just waiting for the deer to come by. Nobody
knows what you're looking at, if they do, they don't know what you're
thinking. You can just have a eld day in the playground of your own mind.
Without ever questioning who's in control.

                MARK 5:4
He had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the
                chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces;

                neither could anyone tame him.

This is not a man who hasn't been restrained, he had often been bound with
chains, he'd been caught but he got away. He made New Year's resolutions,
but he broke his commitment to himself. He'd gotten so good at lying, that
he lies to himself. He's been to the altar before and told God never again. It
lasted a week. He also lied to his God, and once you've lied to your God, lying
to your wife is no big thing at all. He had often been bound by shackles and
chains, nothing held. He was embarrassed, but he did it again, ashamed, but

he still did it, convicted, but he still played the eld.

How many times have God said stop, and you broke the chains. Broken
shackles, broken chains, broken promises, broken children, broken
marriages, broken relationships, broken trust, broken positions on your job,
broken reputation in your church. You've been often bound with chains.
How many have you broken? How many people have gotten hurt loving
you? How many bleeding souls are bleeding through a wound you in icted?
Who hurt our wives and our daughters? Who raped them? Who molested
them? Who molested the little boys and got them thinking that they were
born that way? Who staggered home drunk one night and climbed into
the wrong bed? What's causing our young men and young women to be
strung out on drugs? What has happened to our youth?

                                                    Christ is the Healer
