THE ENEMY IN-A-ME






                Chapter 1
                BEING ASKED THE HARD QUESTION




                I called out from the bedroom and said; “Fran, let’s go ahead and get our
                clothes ready tonight for church tomorrow.” She said; “Do you know what

                church we’re going to?”  “Didn’t mother Ross say that there was a church
                close to us where we should be going?” I asked. “Yeah but I don’t know
                where it is,” she said. So I said; “The Holy Spirit will show us don’t you think?”


                So we’re out the next morning about nine o’clock driving around looking for
                a church to visit, not knowing where it is or that this Sunday morning would
                be a day that would be a de ning moment in my life.


                We had turned off Shallowford Rd. and started heading north on Buford Hwy
                in Doraville, Georgia when a car pulled in front of us and the voice of the Lord

                spoke and said to me “Follow that vehicle.”  With unquestioned obedience I
                began to follow that car. That car turned off the main street and went into a
                warehouse area and made what seemed like a lot of right and left turns and
                ended up at a small church in one of those warehouses areas tucked back in
                the back called Victory Christian Center.


                The pastor of that church was doing a teaching directed toward the men
                and he was bringing it, I mean telling it like it is. What really got to me was

                that at the end of the service, he called all the men to the front of the church
                and started praying, prophesying, laying hands on, and speaking into their
                lives.  I set there with eyes a gazed wondering what the heck was taking
                place here, what had I gotten me and my family into. Well, I was wondering
                because my wife was caught up in this teaching. Men were falling out, crying
                out, and doing things that I had never seen in a church before. They were
                repenting and asking God to change them. There was such a demonstration
                of true repentance, brokenness, and genuine humility, and I knew it. This
                was totally blowing me away as I tried real hard to resist the burning and
                stirring that was going on inside of me.
