                                              Lemon Buttermilk Pie


                                                     1‐1/2 cups sugar

                                                     1 cup buttermilk

                                              1 tablespoon all purpose flour

                                                           2 eggs

                                                        2 egg yolks


                                               1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
                                             Minced zest and juice of 1 lemon


                                                        Pinch of salt

                                                1 pie shell unbaked (9 inch)

                       1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.


                       2.  Whisk all ingredients together in a large bowl until blended.

                       3.  Pour into a 9 inch pie shell.

                       4.  Place on a baking sheet and bake until filling is just set, yet still a bit
                           jiggly, about 40 to 50 minutes.

                       5.  Remove from oven and cool to room temperature.

                       6.  Chill if not serving right away.


                       7.  Let chilled pie stand at room temperature for 15 minutes.

                                  You can serve with sweetened berries and whipped cream on the side
