2.2 Scope and objectives
To define the study the scope and objectives are explained in the following sub paragraphs:
- Spatial scale of the study.
- Objectives of the study.
Spatial scale:
The final model must be applicable for world-wide purposes; however this study will be
focused on a specific region. The state of Tabasco in Mexico has been chosen, since there is a
sufficient amount of data available from this region. This data will be used as input for the
model as well as for the validation of the model.
Objectives:
The overall objective is to develop a model wherein the macro-economic effects of using the
PowerCem Technology in flood risk areas can be calculated.
The main objective of this study is:
To investigate the macro-economic effects of the use of the PowerCem technology in flood risk
areas.
The main objective will be answered by the following sub-objectives:
- What are the damages on the road infrastructure after a flood in a specific region?
- What is the damage and maintenance costs of traditional systems?
- What are the costs of the PowerCem Technology?
- What are the technical benefits of the PowerCem Technology in relation to
traditional systems?
