                        Deborah Kerr, Real Estate Expert
Deborah Kerr has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years.
I started on the carrier side, was a risk manager for a couple of years and
then became a broker. It was not planned. I applied for a job only because
the interview was in New York – I’d never been there and wanted the trip.” 
Deborah has focused on the Real Estate Sector for 11 years.
My family and my former employer are both involved in real estate. I’m involved in most
aspects of real estate including insuring developers. I prefer large property schedules –
           both commercial and residential.

Is there a difference being a part of the Real Estate practice? Has it helped at all?
YES! I had a nice win in November 2018 (and many other wins as well). With assistance
from Chip Stuart, George Hotaling, Russ Hoeltzel, and several other HUB employees, we
landed a large property owner. Previously, the owner had purchased
individual policies for each property. It was a lot of work pulling the
data together, but we managed. HUB saved the client $200,000 in
           premium and improved their coverage.

Any additional comments regarding the practice?
The introductions and networking at past specialty practice meetings
           have been beneficial.

The summit is March 10 – 12 in Vancouver, BC at the JW

already well underway, as practice leadership works
with Sue Flom from SFD, and Amy Fogarty to build out
a meaty and relevant agenda for attending US and
Canadian practice members. This summit will be
comprised of joint sessions, as well as individual practice
           breakouts.
