Construction Summit Success!

The 2020 construction summit was a huge success. Over 75 team members from 18 Hubs
joined together for two jam-packed days. Over 40 speakers participated including attorneys,
underwriters, risk services, marketing and vendors; however, most of the time was dedicated
to sharing best practices between team members. Leaders from across the US and Canada
led group presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions. We reviewed the
challenges facing our customers and tools that each HUB, producer and other team members
can use to serve our current and future customers. We also had a lot of fun networking into
the late hours. Thank you for everyone that participated and helped organize this great
event. The construction practice is building momentum for a great 2020. See you at our
next event!

Carrier Corner: Featuring RokStone!

At our Construction Summit, we had a lot of great carrier presentations! One, in particular, was
RokStone. Kirk Chamberlain, Construction CMO, shared some information about the carrier.
RokStone is a new MGA writing on HDI paper, and plan to offer only a limited number of Broker
appointments. They can write risks in all 50 States on E&S paper; however our appointment
allows us to access them directly, so not required to use a Wholesale Broker. The RokStone
program will be managed through HUB Midwest West (Downers Grove), by a newly appointed
Director of National Programs (Tiffany Cunniff), on behalf of all HUB US office, who’d office will
also be able to provide program structuring, submission, and proposal writing support for
those Producing offices seeking assistance.
RokStone specializes in writing competitively priced Primary GL-Only Wrap-Ups and Project
Specific policies for most classes of construction projects, including heavy civil, street & road,
general building, infrastructure, energy, mixed-use, retail, apartments & condos, healthcare,
office and most other classes in all US states. Their only restriction is no Frame construction at
this point. They can also offer Owners Interest Only policies for these same classes as well.
HUB’s new Director of National Programs can also assist HUB Producing offices with the
placement of Excess limits, over the RokStone Primary CGL program limits, as necessary, as
well as facilitating all necessary Third-Party Wrap Up Administration services.
RokStone is an important new Wrap-Up market for HUB, and only a handful of National Broker
and virtually no Local or Regional will have access to them, so they represent
an important competitive advantage for HUB Construction.
All HUB Producing offices will earn 12% on all Primary Casualty programs
placed with RokStone. Excess Casualty programs can also be placed on
behalf of Producing offices, with commission rates varying based on individual
Carrier plans.
