Healthcare Featured Success Stories - Recap

In 2019, the “Wednesday Wins” featured several Healthcare success stories that served to
highlight not only the scope of the Industry itself but also underline the connectivity developed
through the Healthcare Specialty, and the revenue-producing results of leveraging the depth and
breadth of HUB resources and expertise.

Medical School/Health System Win
In March, we told the story of Joe Kelly, and Nathan Burtt reaching out to the Healthcare practice
leads Shawn McLaughlin & Glenn Day to assist on a significant opportunity with a sizable medical
school/health system based in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Hospital Acquisition Loss Portfolio Transfer
“Marty got the call, referred it to me, I grabbed Glenn - and we were off…” – Chris Treanor
In July, we shared how Glenn Day turned around a bindable quote for a loss portfolio transfer that
was holding up the acquisition of a 193-bed acute-care non-profit hospital - within 2 ½ weeks –
something the incumbent broker couldn’t deliver on, even with a year’s headstart. The clock
starting ticking, recalls Glenn, this past June at the practice leaders’ summit in Chicago when
Chris Treanor asked the question, “Who is the best person equipped to do a loss portfolio
transfer?”
Nursing Home BOR

In August, Gerald Stoll shared how he won a BOR through a referral & leveraging HUB expertise.
The intent of the first meeting was to network and share referral sources; however the team was
so impressed with Gerald’s industry knowledge that they invited the CEO into the discussion –
with the CEO then connecting Gerald to the insurance decision-makers in the company.

Healthcare and Construction collaborate on a cross-vertical opportunity
In November, we shared Barry Montgomery’s story. Barry, a HUB Healthcare expert and based in
Dallas, Texas, had a Healthcare operator contact who had partnered with a development
company planning to build upwards of 30 – 35 rehabilitation hospitals over the next ten years,
planning to turn them back over to the Healthcare operator to run.
