REPORTING PROGRESS

UUM adopts a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle in the reporting process
of its strategic planning. This is part and parcel of the quality management
system which is widely adopted in the University. The ‘Plan’ stage involves
identifying key performance indicators to be reported that are related to
each thrust and its interested stakeholders. At this stage, mode and style of
reporting are also determined. In the ‘Do’ phase, data is collected, verified,
analysed and summarised in a meaningful manner. Comparison with
previous corresponding periods is also performed to observe trends. Next,
in the third ‘Check’ phase, the report is checked and reviewed to ensure
accuracy and potential room for improvement. In this phase, discussion
on enhancing action plans and revising monitoring mechanisms are
deliberated upon. In the final ‘Act’ phase, revisions are performed as part
of the continuous improvement process. This Cycle will continue at least
four times in a year as a commitment to flexible and responsive strategic
                        planning.
