BACKGROUND


                      English education at senior secondary level plays an important
               role in preparing learners to understand and use English in academic
               contexts  and  everyday  life.  One  of  the  competencies  that  grade  10
               learners  must  master  is  the  ability  to  write  various  types  of  texts,
               including report texts. This Grade 10 English teaching module focusing
               on  report  text  is  designed  to  provide  comprehensive  guidance  to

               teachers and learners in understanding and mastering this text type.
               The  module  includes  an  in-depth  explanation  of  the  report  text
               structure,  namely  general  classification  and  description,  as  well  as
               concrete examples that help learners internalize the concept. The main
               purpose  of  this  module  is  to  improve  students'  descriptive  and
               analytical writing skills by using factual and objective information.

                      The writing of this module is also based on the need to adapt the

               teaching  materials to the national curriculum which emphasizes  the
               development  of  students'  literacy  skills.  By  mastering  report  texts,
               students not only learn how to write good reports, but also develop
               critical reading skills and comprehension of various informative texts.
               This  material  is  relevant  in  the  context  of  globalization,  where  the
               ability to understand and convey factual information effectively is very
               important.


                      Thus, the writing of this teaching module is driven by the need
               to provide learning resources that are easily accessible and flexible. In
               the  digital  era,  this  module  is  structured  by  considering  the  use  of
               technology  in  the  learning  process.  This  includes  the  provision  of
               materials in digital formats that can be accessed online, thus allowing
               students to learn independently and teachers to adopt more dynamic
               and adaptive learning methods. With this background, it is hoped that

               this  teaching  module  can  be  an  effective  tool  in  helping  Grade  10
               students  master  the  report  text  material  and  improve  their  overall
               English competence.
