The addition of the R44 helicopter to the K9 deployment and response team has had a marked increase in the
efficiency of the security operations on Karingani. With an almost 300% increase in deployment efficiency K9
teams are able to be deployed on to incursion tracks faster, thus the age of the track on follow-up is significantly
fresher. This is the primary contributing factor to the 27% increase in contact rate on hot pursuit, which overall
contributes significantly to the decrease in incursions as the risk to would-be poachers increases significantly.
