The City of the Forgotten
Chapter 2
Island of the Forgotten
The woods were empty. No rustling of the leaves. No chirping of the birds.
Not a breath of wind anywhere. The cool forest was the dwelling place of a
major group of Redham. It was home to the “City of the Forgotten,” as the
owners called it. And it was truly forgotten. It was a dark, depressing
place where only dark creatures live. It was a dull place, moss covering
the cobblestone walls and blood mixed with the rough, green, and grey
surface. The only thing to be heard was the grunting and crunching of
teeth, grinding flesh, and bones. The overpowering stench of rotting flesh
was everywhere. And it was filled with terrifying beasts. They were tall,
standing about the height of a bear, covered with knotted black fur. They
had massive muzzles with sharp canines protruding from their cut and
torn lips. Their eyes were a deep blood red and they were a truly
terrifying sight. The beasts of Redham were strong and heavily built. Each
one carried a heavy weapon, whether it was a heavy sword, a club, or an
axe. And in the centre of the dark place, there was a giant building. It was
made of ironstone, unlike its fellows, and was painted black. In the centre,
above the oak door, there was a sign.
