In the face of this almighty monster, Gustav was petrified. The great beast
towering over him. Gustav flinched as its tail lashed his face. He cringed
away from the monster. He stumbled back, feeling the ground with the
heels of his feet. Flecks of spittle flew from the monster's mouth as it took
great leaps toward him. Its massive jaws began to stretch as it closed in.
The young boy looked death straight in the eye, ready for the sweet air of
Heaven or the fire of Hell. Then he thought, this was Hell. This city is the
city of the forgotten of God.

One step. Two steps. She inhaled, fixed her hair, straightened her clothes, then exhaled.
She inched towards the giant oak doors that towered above her, as old memories flowed
through her mind. Interrupted from her thoughts, she turned around only to see a group
of kids giggling behind her. Knowing they were spotted, the kids rushed off. Two
seconds later, thunder clouds rumbled above her head, and rain pelted down like bullets
drenching her head to toe. Fuming, she kicked open the heavy doors and stormed
towards the headmistress's office, all the nerves, and dread that filled her minutes ago
was instantly drained out. Slowly, she managed to calm herself down. “Lydia doesn't
have to know about this little break-down,” she thought to herself. “Since I am applying
for a job here,”. As she reached the office, the door swung open.
