Cardiff City Women went through to the last sixteen of the FAW Women's Cup with a
5-0 victory over Cascade Youth Club. Eliza Collie netted two of the goals for the holders
along with Danielle Green, Megan Saunders and Seren Watkins.
The only all-Premier game saw Pontypridd Utd run out 5-0 winners away to Barry
Town Utd. Alison Witts led the scoring with a hat-trick, whilst Ellie Gunney and Olivia
Francis added the others to seal an impressive result for their side.
Alana Murphy scored twice, with Gracie Grosvenor also on target, as Abergavenny
Women won 3-1 against Swansea University and Cardiff Met Women had a
smoother passage, scoring nine times without reply against Caerphilly Castle. Elianna
Chavez hit a hat-trick for the Archers whilst Ellie Preece and Kennesha Nanette each
bagged braces and the tally was completed by Erin Murray and Annabel Carr.
Nia Rees was on target five times and Katy Hosford added a further four for Swansea
City against Coedffranc Women. Emily Freeman (2), Ellie Lake, Nieve Jenkins, Chloe
Tiley, Gwen Horgan and Jessica Williams weighed in with the other goals. Swansea's tally
was matched by Briton Ferry Llansawel in their win over Merthyr Town, Mollie
Jones scoring five with Laura May Walkley and Megan Kearle hitting hat-tricks, Lowri
Ridings and Freya Davies each added two and Lucy Powell joined them on the scoresheet.
Pencoed Athletic U19 produced a fine result when they defeated Pontardawe
Town 3-1, Grace Phillips netting twice and Amber Thomas adding the other. Cardiff
Wanderers also caused a surprise with a penalty shootout win over Caldicot Town
following a 3-3 draw. Anna Stevenson, Jade Croft and Llywela Edwards were all on target
for Wanderers, with Ashleigh Harris, Rianne Jones and Lucy McDonough replying.
The New Saints have made a good start to the season and they built on this with a
twelve-goal blast against Airbus UK Broughton. Caitlin Chapman bagged a hat-trick,
Lexie Harrison and Chantelle Teare each netting twice along with Beth Lewis, Danielle
Staley, Lucie Platt, Lia Lewis and Lily Whitefoot.
Rebecca Pritchard, Rosie Hughes, Amber Lightfoot, Sophie Hodson and Ava Suckley
accounted for the goals as Wrexham won 5-1 away to CPDM Y Felinheli and
Connah's Quay Nomads defeated Llanfair Utd 6-2, Kirstie Kural and Elana Harley
each scoring twice with Emily Bentley and Amber Bailey also on the scoresheet. Jasmin
Dutton netted a hat-trick along with Mari Gibbard (2), Ceri Slaney and Ffion Owen for
Llandudno Ladies in their seven-goal victory at Amlwch Town.
Laura Williams scored the only goal of the game as CPD Y Rhyl 1879 won 1-0
against NFA FC Women. Carmarthen Town booked their place in the last sixteen by
beating Tonyrefail Welfare 2-1 thanks to Megan Thomas and Phoebe West, meanwhile
Llanelli Town scored eleven without reply away to Aberdare Town. Dannielle Evans
found the net five times and Charmian Martin hit a hat-trick, along with Katie Mainwaring,
Alisha Williams and an own goal.
The Second Round Qualifying tie between Chipping Sodbury Town and Frampton
Rangers originally had to be abandoned after Sodbury midfielder Connie Smart
sustained a serious knee injury. The match was replayed on Sunday and Frampton ran out
8-0 winners, Saffron Degg scoring four times along with Kirsten Prior (2), Ruby Michael
and Lucie Hulin. Frampton will now be at home to AFC St Austell.
Gemma Shepherd, Xayla-Rae Alberts and Katie Butts all scored for Dorking
Wanderers as they won 3-1 away to Eastbourne Utd and they have an intriguing home
tie against Selsey Women.
