winners over Sheffield Wednesday thanks to a Sadie Hooper hat-trick, Phoebe Lodge (2), Jodie
Gregory, Georgina Wilson-Roberts and Jenna Bramley. Altofts Ladies were the day's other
winners, 6-1 against Millmoor Juniors Ladies with goals from Nadine Bates, Cara Mahoney,
Natalie Dean, Emily Sharp, Jamie Sugden and Jodie Daly. Harworth Colliery shared eight goals
with Farsley Celtic Juniors; Katherine Cunliffe (2) netted for Harworth along with Sophie
Thompson and an own goal, whilst Farsley scored through Jasmin Cooper, Shauna Hill, Sarah Lawn
and Tara Nolan. Emily Burton and Chelsea Schofield were on target for Ossett Utd in their 2-2 draw
with Sheffield Utd Community, who replied through Regan Barnes and Lauren Bullock.
North West League
The Argyle Sports Kit Cup got under way on Sunday with the First Round ties and Accrington
Stanley caused a surprise with a 5-4 victory over Premier Division side Darwen FC Women.
Bolton Wanderers were another team to knock out higher division opposition, beating Wigan
Athletic on a penalty shootout after the teams had shared a 2-2 draw, and Poulton Vics won 3-2
against Blackburn Community SC.
The top two teams in the Premier Division had been paired against each other and it was
Cheadle Town Stingers who were 2-1 winners over FC United of Manchester. Curzon
Ashton were the winners in the other all-Premier Division tie, 1-0 against Tranmere Rovers.
Fleetwood Town Wrens were taken all the way to penalties, where they emerged as
winners, by Northwich Vixens after the match had finished level at 2-2. Crewe Alexandra were
2-0 winners away to Altrincham and Mossley Hill beat Chester FC Women 3-2. Salford City
Lionesses defeated Preston North End 5-2 and West Didsbury & Chorlton were 7-2 victors
against Sir Tom Finney.
Division One North leaders Haslingden were 1-0 winners away to Chorley Women
Development whilst Blackpool were beaten 4-3 by Runcorn Linnets. Penrith AFC Ladies
also won by the odd goal in seven against Penwortham Town whilst Hindley Juniors Women
edged out Morecambe 2-1 thanks to Isobel Worswick and Sarah Webster.
Bury AFC Women progressed after defeating BRNESC Ladies 2-1 and Warrington
Wolves Foundation were 5-2 winners away to Workington Reds.
One match was played in the league, in Division One South where Wythenshawe
Amateurs lifted themselves off the bottom as they picked up their first points of the season with a
2-1 win away to Alder FC Women.
South West League
Sherborne Town hang on to top spot in the Premier Division after a 3-3 draw against Poole
Town. Debbie Collinson, Katie Marshallsay and Sacha Paynter all scored for Poole whilst Orla East
(2) and Terri Will made sure that Sherborne remain as leaders, albeit with their advantage trimmed
to a single point. Second placed Bishop's Lydeard kept up their good start by beating Liskeard
Athletic 4-2, Imogen Miller hitting a hat-trick and Brittany Harris the other whilst Sam Metters
netted twice for the Cornish side. Torquay Utd also won 4-2 against Warminster Town with a
goal apiece from Ellie Bishop, Tracey Cross, Mia Preston and Danni Wyatt, Mia Blazey and Sophie
Kelly replying. Charlie Rowlands (2) and Estelle Randall scored the goals as Forest Green Rovers
won 3-0 away to Wootton Bassett Town and Bristol Rovers meanwhile defeated Ilminster
Town 2-1 thanks to Laura Curnock and Abi Todd, with Harriet Kelly replying.
In the only match to be played in the Northern Division, Downend Flyers returned to the
top of the table with a 2-2 draw against Oldland Abbotonians but they were close to being two
points ahead, rather than goal difference. Downend led by two goals at half time, thanks to a double
from Faith Flynn, and they were moments away from a second victory of the season when a late rally
from Oldland saw them score twice in injury time to salvage a point, with goals from Jade Scammell
and Anneka Hawkins-Hoare.
Pucklechurch Sports have taken over the leadership of the Eastern Division, courtesy of a
6-2 victory over Paulton Rovers. Adele Hooper hit a hat-trick with Jessica Frazer (2) and Poppy
Coles adding the others, whilst Paulton's replies came from Alex Gwyther and Yazmin Laver.
AEK Boco had started the day as leaders but despite beating Weston-super-Mare 5-3,
they are back in second on goal difference. Lucy Atkinson and Emilie Channing-Cone both netted
twice for Boco, Eloise Nicholas adding the other, whilst Weston's replies came from Jessica Larbey,
Ellie Roberts and Sherise Binns. Martha Wyatt netted twice and Koren Thorner-Atkinson, along
with two own goals, as Frome Town defeated Middlezoy Rovers 5-0 and they stay two points off
the pace as do Weymouth, who beat Stockwood Wanderers 3-1 with a Ruby Clark double and
