McGovern goal gave Stourbridge the points against Crusaders. Redditch Utd and
Kidderminster Harriers shared a 1-1 draw with goals from Chloe Barker-Duthie and
Sarah Lojko respectively and Coundon Court ran out 8-1 winners over Tamworth. Alex
Shilton hit a hat-trick for Coundon with Shanice Cullinane-Liburd (2), Charlotte Harris,
Hannah Roxburgh and Jessica Sevellec also getting on the scoresheet.
Honours were even in the Division One North top of the table clash with
Shrewsbury Town and Shifnal Town battling out a 1-1 draw. Shannon McShane was on
target for the Shrews, who stay five points ahead of Shifnal who netted through Sian Bonner.
Sandwell Ladies have climbed up into second place after a brace from Phoebe Hopwood
gave them a 2-1 win away to AFC Telford Utd. Walsall Wood defeated Walsall Ladies
8-3 in their local derby; Tayler Davies, Rosie Hargreaves and Emma Baggott all scored twice
along with Grace Field and Beth Male, meanwhile goals from Lauren Bailey-O'Toole, Leila
Hopkins and Joanne Ryan earned Coventry City a 3-1 success at Wyrley Ladies.
Knowle head the Division One South table by three points following their 3-1
victory over Rugby Borough, which came courtesy of a goal apiece from Alice Belcher,
Michelle McCormack and Demi-Lee Rolph. Second placed Solihull Sporting scored nine
times without reply, Isabelle Haigh bagging a hat-trick along with doubles from Naomi
Melbourne, Lauren Smith and Dionne Williams. Kingfisher have moved up to fourth
despite being held to a goalless draw by Droitwich Spa.
       Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup
The quarter final line up was finalised with the ties postponed from the previous weekend
due to bad weather all being settled.
Doncaster Rovers Belles were more comfortable winners away to Sheffield
Wednesday than a 3-1 scoreline suggests. Captain Jess Andrew, with her back to goal,
opened with a flicked kick into the far corner from a cross by Sophie Bell in the 20th minute.
Jasmine Saxton doubled the lead ten minutes later with a low shot from sixteen yards. That
gave the game a score which reflected Belles’ overall control, but their defence was hesitant
several minutes before the break and Wednesday’s Shannon Coughlan was allowed to
advance into the area and fire an angled shot past Ellie Sharpe who for the most part of the
90 minutes was a relative spectator. Saxton increased the 2-1 interval score several minutes
into the second half with an angled strike from wide left of the area. Wednesday keeper
Megan Parkin made some fine saves to prevent a heavier defeat for the hosts, including
some to deny Saxton a hat trick.
Holders Barnsley progressed quite comfortably at home to County League
opponents Rotherham Utd Whitehill. Rosy Woodhams (2), Rebekah Coe, Courteney
Csomor, Jodie Michalska and Emily Pierrepont were on target in a 6-0 home win. Barnsley’s
Development team were beaten 5-0 away to AFC Bentley for whom experienced
campaigners Jenna McGee, with a hat-trick, and Hayley Wood, with a brace, came up
trumps with the goals in the absence of top scorer Gemma Harte who missed the tie through
       injury.
Huddersfield Town Development won 4-0 at Harworth Colliery where Sian
Gibrill-Keating opened after just a few minutes. Macy Ellis netted the first of her brace as
Town quickly doubled their 1-0 interval advantage. Substitute Laura Hulme was Town’s
other scorer. Sheffield FC meanwhile had a home walk over against Sheffield
       Wednesday Res.
The quarter final line up features the “big four” from the FA Women’s National
League in Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers Belles, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield FC, al of
whom have won the trophy previously. East Midlands League Premier Division outfit
Oughtibridge would be expected to give each of the aforementioned quartet a good run for
their money. AFC Bentley, Barnsley Ladies (North East League Southern Division) and
Huddersfield Town Development would, on paper, be considered the remaining underdogs.
