Genero Adran League
Swansea City have gone level on points with league leaders Cardiff Met Women, with a
game in hand, following their 5-1 victory away to The New Saints on Sunday.
Tija Richardson fired the Swans into a 20th minute lead, with Katy Hosford and Alicia
Powe adding further goals ahead of half time. Hosford scored her second goal just beyond the
hour mark and after Emily Ridge had reduced the arrears for TNS, Gwenan Horgan rounded off
the scoring for Swansea with four minutes remaining.
The result also means that Swansea have now completed three years without being
beaten in a league match. Their last league defeat was on 21st October 2018 when they lost 2-0
to Cardiff Met.
Aberystwyth Town meanwhile climbed up to fourth place after they defeated Port
Talbot Town 4-2. Jessica Denscombe put Port Talbot ahead after nine minutes, with Flavia
Jenkins bringing Aber level shortly afterwards. Denscombe gave Port Talbot the lead for a
second time, midway through the second half, before two goals in a three minute spell turned
the match around in Aberystwyth’s favour, Jenkins scoring both to complete her hat-trick. Fiona
Evans sealed the victory for Aber when she scored their fourth goal, two minutes from time.
The top of the table clash in the North Division ended with honours even as Llandudno
and Bethel Ladies battled out a 3-3 draw. Ffion Williams scored twice and Mari Gibbard the
other for Bethel, who hold on to top spot on goal difference, whilst Llandudno netted through
Maddie Williams, Ella Jones and India Hassall.
