MESSAGES FROM THE TEAMS
Bitton Ladies
Bitton Ladies formed at the start of the 2007/2008 season and joined
the Gloucestershire County Women’s Division 2 with Steve Jones as
Manager. They were quick to learn some harsh lessons and suffered
heavy defeats in the opening few weeks of the season including 13-0
& 10-0 defeats. Results steadily improved over the season and they
finished their first season in 5th position. Proceeding seasons saw
the team enter the FA Cup for the first time, win the division 2 title to
move into division 1 and reach the League Cup final.
In Division 1 of the County league Bitton made a promising start to
the 2010/11 season but faded away due to losing several players.
They saved some of their best performances for the league cup
however and once again managed to get to the final.
2012/13 saw the most successful season to date in the clubs history,
under the management of Paul Passaway they blitzed their way
through the league to be crowned champions gaining promotion to
the South West Women’s League and also won the league cup.
Unfortunately, the side were forced to fold but after an 8 year break,
Bitton entered the Gloucester County Women’s League division 1 for
the 2022/23 season. Under the Management of Mike Strawford and
his team Lee Hopton and Nigel White, the team are having a great
season, currently unbeaten and sitting second in the league with
games in hand to go on and become champions.
