Longwell Green Ladies

It is with great pride that we Introduce Longwell Green Ladies FC to today’s
cup final.
Longwell Green Ladies entered the Gloucester County Women’s League five
seasons ago in 2016 making the transition from Bristol girls league u18’s
into the second division of the women’s county league and finishing 4th in
the division, we are lucky to have retained many players who have stayed
and been playing for Longwell Green from a very young age, our captain
Abbie Woodley-Marshall along with Rebecca Jones, Becki Sullivan, and Evie
Dorrington.

Our second season 2017-2018 saw us gain promotion to Division 1 and we
managed to attract 5 experienced players from Downend Flyer’s, Hayley
Honeywell, Zoe Hodgson, Melanie Mills, Kate Michael and Laura Tugwell
who brought strength and experience to the team, along with Emily Angwin
from Keynsham, another successful season finishing second in the league
table just losing out to Bristol Ladies Union.
Moving into the next season and as we continue to grow, the team
welcomed Georgia Rawlinson Millie Rothwell and Holly Stephens, into the
squad along Kylie Allen, Elisa White, Georgia Lee and Lucy Werrett.
With a growing squad, a mix of different ages and personalities and
commitment to playing for their team we continue to push for promotion.
It is without a doubt that this team are capable of future success and look
forward to continuing with this incredible group of young women, its days
like today that make it all worthwhile and we look forward to taking the
team forward in the future.
