Manager mentions..
Good afternoon everyone
Today we welcome the management, players, officials and supporters of Stoke
Gifford football Club to Norman Scott park, for what is sure to be an
entertaining and fiery encounter against our neighbours.
Before I proceed with what is happening with the first team, I would like to
state how excited we are at the prospect of having all 3 teams back playing
together at Norman Scott Park again. It has been a long time since this last
happened and I know a lot of hard work has gone into making it achievable.
This will certainly help our development moving forward.
There have been a number of changes made throughout the club over the first
half of the season both on and off the field and it has had a bit of a rollercoaster
feel to it! Whilst that certainly isn’t being used as an excuse, I personally feel
that we are now all back, working together again to ensure we continue to
stabilise the future of this club.
The first team are currently going through a transitional period and whilst our
obvious target is to maintain our status and continue to establish ourselves in
the Marcliff Gloucestershire County league, which we have proudly done for
numerous years, we are also chomping at the bit to give our exciting young
players an opportunity to wear the black and white shirt, as they are not only
the future, they are the present also!
These lads will continue to give blood, sweat and tears for this club, as that is
the only mentality that they know and whilst results haven’t been what we all
expect up to now, it’s important to realise that Rome wasn’t built in a day. We
will continue to lay those foundations so that in years to come, the club will be
as strong as ever. Short term though, I can assure you all that we are working
harder than we ever have to try to put smiles back on faces again and just as
important, 3 points on the board.
On behalf of the management and players at the club, I would like to thank you
all as always for your continued support, especially to the volunteers behind the
scenes who do so much for this football club that we all take for granted! I can
assure each and everyone of you that it is very much appreciated by us all.
Let’s hope for 3 points today so that the beer will taste a lot sweeter in the bar
afterwards.
Up the Patch
