The Barclays FA WSL
The top end of the Barclays FA WSL has something of a London-centric
look about it, with four of the current top five based in the capital.
Arsenal continue to lead the table following their fourth straight
win, 4-0 away to Aston Villa. The home side had started the day in third
place and with an unbeaten start and the scoreline was goalless at the
interval. Kim Little opened the scoring six minutes after the restart and
the Gunners were to add three further goals late on, Mana Iwabuchi
scoring against her former club before Katie McCabe and Little added
further goals.
Tottenham Hotspur made sure of keeping pace with Arsenal in second place by
winning 2-0 at Leicester City. Rachel Williams gave Spurs the lead just before half time and
Angela Addison made sure their 100% record stayed intact with the second goal, two minutes
from time.
In the six games over the weekend, only one team enjoyed a home victory in the
solitary match where both teams scored, and that was Chelsea who defeated Brighton &
Hove Albion 3-1. Guro Reiten gave Chelsea the lead before half time and Sam Kerr added a
second before half time. Danielle Carter pulled one back for the Seagulls after the restart but
Chelsea were to make the game safe when Beth England scored ten minutes from time.
Manchester Utd got back to winning ways with a 2-0 success away to
Birmingham City on Sunday night. Leah Galton opened the scoring for United, midway
through the first half, and Ella Toone wrapped up the win for her first with ten minutes
remaining.

their second win in as many matches when they
