FA Women’s Championship

One match was played in the FA Women’s Championship on Sunday, due to
the other teams being involved in the Fourth Round of the Vitality Wonen’s
       FA Cup.
Crystal Palace played at home to Lewes and were looking to
bounce back from defeat seven days earlier, for a win which would take them
back into the top three. The Rookettes, meanwhile, were seeking to keep up their improving
form and victory would take them as high as fourth, moving above Palace in the process.
It was Lewes who got off to a good start and Amelia Hazard gave them the lead just
before the half hour mark. A ten minute spell in the second half turned the match around in
Palace’s favour, when Bianca Baptiste brought the scores level and Siobhan Wilson then put
them in front. Dean Davenport’s side made the
points safe injury time, when Coral-Jade Haines Crystal Palace 3 (Baptiste 62, Wilson 71, Haines 90)
scored the third goal from the penalty spot. Lewes 1 (Hazard 28)

       Vasseur departs Everton post
Jen-Luc Vasseur has departed from his role as Everton manager after four months in charge
of the club. The former Lyon head coach had been appointed to replace Willie Kerr earlier in
       the season.
The club issued the following statement this week:
“Everton can confirm that Jean-Luc Vasseur has left his role as manager of the
Club’s Women’s team. Assistant coaches Frederic Piquionne and Franck Plaine have also
       left the club.
“Everyone at Everton would like to thank Jean-Luc, Frederic and Franck for their
service and wish them well for the future.
“Chris Roberts and Claire Ditchburn will take charge of the team on an interim
       basis.”
Stars’ daughters make FA Cup bow
Two daughters of well known former international players made their first team debuts for
WSL sides in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup on Sunday.
Karna Solskjaer, daughter of Manchester United legend and former manager Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer, came on as a late substitute in place of Ivana Fuso for Manchester United
in their 2-0 victory over Bridgwater United, with her father watching on.
Meanwhile, with eight minutes of their tie against Huddersfield Town remaining,
Everton introduced Kenzie Weir for her debut, replacing Izzy Christiansen. Kenzie is the
daughter of former Everton and Scotland stalwart David Weir, who was also present in the
       crowd for the game.
