Sophie Shemeld were on target for Socrates, with Abigail Binns netting for Mexborough.
Cup and Shield ties formed the bulk of last Sunday’s schedule. In a delayed Second Round tie,
Handsworth Development reached the quarter finals where they will visit Dronfield Town
thanks to a 3-1 win at Kiveton Park. Tia Stancill (2) and Liv Winstanley netted for Handsworth with
Mikayla Harper the Kiveton scorer. The three quarter final ties which were played all ended in away
wins with each of the victors scoring three times. Eva Butler’s hat-trick for Rotherham Utd
Whitehill in their 3-0 win at Mosborough included two penalties. Also bagging a hat-trick was
Cheryl Mawhood, for Rotherham Utd Res to progress against Swallownest whose solitary reply
came from Tasha Lindley. One tie went to extra time with AFC Bentley coming from behind to win
through 3-1 at Barnsley (Women) Development, who scored via Harriet Lloyd. Not
unexpectedly, it was Bentley’s top scorer Gemma Harte who levelled and she was on the mark again
in extra time, along with Abbie Walker, as Bentley
reached the last four where they will visit
Rotherham Utd Reserves. The winners of the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
