Union Development lost ground as they were beaten 4-3 by Downend Flyers Res. On a
day when all four games resulted in away victories, Hannah Pinnock scored both goals for
Winchcombe Town in their 2-1 success at Stoke Lane Athletic, who replied through
Leanne Derbyshire.
Greater London League
Whilst Clapton Community were in FA Cup action, their lead at the top of the Premier
Division was trimmed to a single point by Islington Borough, who won 4-1 against
Edgware Town. Rachel Anderson was on target twice for Islington along with Ella Turvil
and Cleo Williams. Comets are a further two points adrift in third after Dieda Fennema and
Michelle Keating gave them a 2-1 win away to Enfield Town 3rds. Headstone Manor
moved up the table by beating Regents Park Rangers 5-0, Jemma Forey and Katie
Phillipson each netting twice with Ujevara Breznica adding the other.
Division One North leaders Actonians Ladies Res were beaten for the first time this
season, 1-0 by Camden Town Blues whose goal came from Heather McIntosh. Actonians
still head the table by two points with second placed Queen's Park Rangers Res drawing
2-2 against Hackney Res. Jessica Welch and Harriet Stiles-Winfield scored for Rangers,
with Hackney replying through Aicha Kabba and Vanessa Wilson. Chloe Logie hit a hat-trick
and Kasey Clifford the other as Brentford B made up ground in third by beating East
London Ladies 4-0. Alex Milne (2) and Judith Rossey were the scorers for Tower
Hamlets in their 3-2 victory over New London Lionesses Development.
Richmond & Kew have gone four points clear in Division One South after a Charlotte
Close goal gave them a 1-0 victory away to UCL Academicals. South East Parakeets
replace Ashford Town (Middlesex) Res in second place after winning their meeting 3-2,
courtesy of a Holly Learmouth double and Kathleen Waterhouse. Charlotte Stiff and an own
goal meanwhile gave Tooting Bec a 2-1 success away to Sporting Duet, which takes them
up to third. South London Women meanwhile edged out South London Laces by the
odd goal in nine, thanks to Elyse Stokley (2), Rachel Burden, Sabina Hollywood and Virginia
Somers.
Sheffield & Hallamshire League
The start of day second vs top clash between Barnsley (Women) Development and
Sheffield Utd Community Foundation ended 2-1 in favour of the visitors, for whom
Connie Dyson and Becky Hanley were on target. Connie Hibbert netted for Barnsley who slip
to third with AFC Bentley moving up to second spot after captain Gemma Harte bagged a
hat-trick in their 3-1 win over bottom placed Wakefield Trinity U21 whose reply came
from Molly Taylor. In the division’s only other game, Dronfield Town recorded a second
successive win, 5-1 away to Rotherham Utd Whitehill thanks to goals from Ruby Burns,
Annabel Davies, Miriam Hawley, Becky Hill and Kris Humble. Jess Broadhurst netted
Rotherham’s consolation.
There is no stopping Division Two leaders Handsworth Development who ran out
5-1 winners at Socrates, who went into the game with four successive clean sheets behind
them. Katie Jepson netted four with Sam Woodham the other scorer for Handsworth, while
Claire Attrill netted a late consolation for Socrates. Second placed Kiveton Park were
indebted to top scorer Mikayla Harper whose brace enabled them to salvage a point at tome
to Sheffield Wednesday Development, for whom Halima Essa netted both to build a 2-0
lead. Lydia Rae (2) and Louise Harris scored for Mexborough Athletic in their 3-3 draw
with Worsbrough Bridge Athletic whose goals came from Beth Goldthorpe, Jo Marfleet
and Kenna-Lea Portress. There was also a 3-3 scoreline at Wickersley Youth whose scorers
were Emily Allen, Leanne Carter and Lori-Anne Tart against Sheffield Utd Community
Foundation Res. Tasha Lindley netted both for Swallownest in their 2-1 win over
Sheffield City, whose goal came from Sophie Peace.
