Division One North
Durham Cestria are still stretching the pace at the top and maintained their lead of seven
points by winning 2-0 away to Hull City. The home side went into the game on a good run
of form which had seen them climb the table but Faye Dale gave the Wildcats an early lead
and Poppy Pritchard added the second goal.
Newcastle Utd returned to action and also won 2-0 against Leeds Utd. The first half
was goalless but a brace after the break from Kacie Elson earned Newcastle the points and
ensured they kept up the chase.
Barnsley continue to look good for a top three place as they scored six times without
reply past Norton & Stockton Ancients. Louise Biggins and Natalie Shaw netted two
goals apiece, with the others coming from Dalie Hurdiss and Brooke Marsden.
Two second half goals also saw Stockport County to a 2-0 success at York City.
Emily Bradshaw gave Stockport the lead ten minutes after the restart and they went on to
seal the points when substitute Lily Murphy scored the second.
Bradford City gave themselves a lifeline when they won 2-1 away to Chorley.
Arianne Parnham scored twice to give Bradford's hopes of climbing out of the bottom two a
boost, whilst Chorley replied through Megan Searson.
Merseyrail Ladies picked up a point when they shared a 1-1 draw with
Middlesbrough. Millie Fitzpatrick scored a late equaliser for Merseyrail after Jessica
Dawson had put Middlesbrough in front on the hour mark.
Division One Midlands
Stourbridge tightened their grip on the title race when they defeated second placed
Doncaster Rovers Belles 2-0 in their top of the table clash on Sunday. Second half goals
from Millie Rogers and Alex Nicklin earned the Glassgirls a result which takes them three
points ahead of the Belles, with a game in hand.
A win would have taken Sporting Khalsa back into second place but in front of an
attendance of 1,025 at the Sixfields Stadium, they went down 1-0 to Northampton Town.
Zoe Boote scored the only goal of the game for Northampton, midway through the first half.
Solihull Moors moved back above Peterborough Utd and into fourth place after
winning their meeting 4-0. Rebecca Knight was on target twice for Moors, along with Zoe
Creaney and Tiana Russell-Cartwright.
The points were shared at the Home of Football Stadium as Sheffield FC and Leek
Town battled out a 1-1 draw. Moriah McIntosh scored for Sheffield as they drew for the first
time this season, whilst Leek netted through Cassie Hyde.
Wem Town meanwhile climbed out of the bottom two with a 1-0 victory over Long
Eaton Utd. Lucy Brown scored the only goal of the game to earn Wem a point which takes
them above Leek on goal difference.
Division One South East
Hashtag Utd bounced back from their first defeat of the season seven days earlier to beat
Norwich City 4-1 and keep hold of the leadership. Emma Samways, Samantha Rowland
and Malika Apindia Gille all scored for the Tags along with an own goal, with Katie Knights
replying.
AFC Wimbledon remain two points behind after also winning 4-1 against Chesham
Utd. Emma Plewa gave the Dons a seventh minute lead, with Natalia Makowska equalising
moments later, but Hannah Billingham then put Wimbledon back in front and they made the
points safe after half time with further strikes from Emily Donovan and Ellie Dorey.
London Seaward remain comfortably in third but lost ground on the top two as they
were beaten 2-0 by Ashford Town (Middlesex), who continue to do well in their first
season in the league. The game was decided late on when Ashley Cheatley scored both goals
for Ashford, for the second week running, in the last eight minutes.
