FA Women’s Championship

       Sheffield  Utd  have  gone  to  the  top  of  the  FA  Women’s  Championship
       following their 3-0 win against Watford.
            Courtney Sweetman-Kirk opened the scoring for the Blades after six
       minutes  and  Lucy  Watson  made  it  two  shortly
       afterwards.  Watson  then  kept  up  her  fine  start  to  the
       season after the break with her second goal on the day,
       to seal a third successive win for her side.
            United  lead  the  table  on  goal  difference  from
       Durham Women, who also notched up a third win in
       four  games  with  a  2-0  success  away  to  Bristol  City.
       Elizabeta Ejupi put the Wildcats in front shortly before
       half time and Beth Hepple wrapped up the win from the
       penalty spot late on.
            Sunderland   remain   the   division’s   last
       unbeaten team after battling back to earn a 1-1 draw with
       Lewes. After Rhian Cleverly had given the Rookettes an
       early  lead,  a  late  own  goal  from  Rebecca  McKenna Chloe O’Connor of Bristol City tries to escape the
       earned Sunderland a share of the spoils.    attentions of Durham Women’s Mollie Lambert
            Honours  were  also  even  as  London  City     (Will Cheshire).
       Lionesses  and  Coventry  Utd  finished  level  at  2-2,
       meaning that Coventry picked up their first point of the season. Things could have been even
       better for Coventry as Rio Hardy gave them a first half lead and a Rianna Jarrett own goal made
       it two after the break, but they were denied a first win by a fightback from the Lionesses, Jarrett
       atoning  by  pulling  a  goal  back  for  her  side  and
       Harley  Bennett  equalising  midway  through  the
       second half.                            Bristol City 0
            Liverpool  meanwhile  won  2-1  against  Durham Women 2 (Ejupi 41, Hepple pen 85)
       Crystal Palace and are up to fifth, two points off  - Charlton Athletic 2 (Rutherford 36, Follis 85)
       the pace. Taylor Hinds gave the Reds a great start  Blackburn Rovers 0
       with  a  second  minute  opener  and  after  Siobhan -
       Wilson had equalised for Palace via a cross-cum- Liverpool 2 (Hinds 2, Hodson 37)
       shot, Ashley Hodson scored what proved to be the Crystal Palace 1 (Wilson 33)
       winner  for  Liverpool,  although  they  needed  to  -
       withstand late pressure from Palace to make sure  London City Lionesses 2 (Jarrett 52, Bennett 69)

       in  front  leading  up  to  half  time  and  substitute Sunderland 1 (McKenna og 79)
       Emma Follis sealed the points for her side when Lewes 1 (Cleverly 8)
       she scored the second goal, five minutes from time.
