FA Women’s Championship
Sheffield Utd have gone to the top of the FA Women’s Championship
following their 3-0 win against Watford.
Courtney Sweetman-Kirk opened the scoring for the Blades after six
minutes and Lucy Watson made it two shortly
afterwards. Watson then kept up her fine start to the
season after the break with her second goal on the day,
to seal a third successive win for her side.
United lead the table on goal difference from
Durham Women, who also notched up a third win in
four games with a 2-0 success away to Bristol City.
Elizabeta Ejupi put the Wildcats in front shortly before
half time and Beth Hepple wrapped up the win from the
penalty spot late on.
Sunderland remain the division’s last
unbeaten team after battling back to earn a 1-1 draw with
Lewes. After Rhian Cleverly had given the Rookettes an
early lead, a late own goal from Rebecca McKenna Chloe O’Connor of Bristol City tries to escape the
earned Sunderland a share of the spoils. attentions of Durham Women’s Mollie Lambert

Lionesses and Coventry Utd finished level at 2-2,
meaning that Coventry picked up their first point of the season. Things could have been even

it two after the break, but they were denied a first win by a fightback from the Lionesses, Jarrett
atoning by pulling a goal back for her side and
