One match was played in Division Three, Ellwood Ladies getting off to a good start with
a 2-0 victory away to Downend Flyers A, goals coming from Sarah Smith and Ellie Hall.
Greater London League
Actonians Ladies Res are the opening day leaders of the Premier Division after scoring eight
times without reply past Clapham Utd. Fiona Moloney, Jennifer Laidlaw and Anne-Marie Pejcic
each netted twice along with Emma Welch and Sinthujah Sooriyakumar. Ornella Mbula scored
twice and Carrie-Anne Layton the other as Islington Borough won 3-1 away to Richmond &
Kew. These were the only top division games to have goals, as Comets' clash with Headstone
Manor and the match between UCL Academicals and Camden Town both finished goalless.
Leyton Orient have made a strong start in Division One North, winning 8-0 against
Tower Hamlets. Leanne Bates was on target twice along with Olivia Worsfold, Shakira Waithe,
Liliana Almeida, Jordan Feldman, Katie Hunt and Charlotte Lynch. Forest Crusaders
meanwhile defeated Hackney Res 8-1 thanks to Reanne Bell-Webb (2), Georgia Maxwell-Jones
(2), Charmaine Homans, Dominyka Pavlovska, Akira Scott, Shannon Simpson and Loren Whyte.
Kasey Clifford, Ruby Sumpter, Calli Weaver, Cheyenne Faulkner and Holly Hawkes gave
Brentford B a 5-0 success at Actonians Ladies 3rds, whilst AFC Leyton defeated Enfield
Town 3rds 5-3 thanks to an Abigail Lestrade hat-trick, Tetiana Laishchuk and Justina Mutuale.
East London meanwhile edged out Luton Town Res by the odd goal in eleven, Elena
Bodnarescu bagging a hat-trick along with Katherine Gee, Emily Hammond and Beth Kay.
Janiece Allen scored a hat-trick for Luton but finished on the losing side.
In Division One South, Bryony Bancroft hit a hat-trick with Zoe Burden, Jennifer Schmidt
and Charlotte Stiff adding the others, as Tooting Bec won 6-1 at Wandsworth Borough.
Hammersmith defeated CB Hounslow Utd 5-2 thanks to Lashan Millwood (2), Ashley Nevey
(2) and Madeleine Hills, whilst a MJ Burgess double and Laura Johnson earned Balham
Panthers a 3-0 victory at Kenningwell Utd. Josie Alderman, Rebecca Netteryd and Biff
Norman-Walker accounted for the goals as South London Laces beat South East Parakeets
3-1 and Rachael Todd was on target for South London in their 1-1 draw against Sporting Duet.
Somerset League
Champions Pen Mill have started strongly in their defence of the title with a 4-0 victory against
newcomers Bath City. Megan Gratton, Charlotte Harmer, Leonie Hobbs and Lorna Jennings all
scored a goal apiece for the title holders but it is Banwell who are the opening day leaders after
they won 5-1 away to Portishead Town Res. Lucy Mager, Lindsay Pilgrim, Nicki Robinson,
Sarah Tedder amd Gabrielle Massey all netted for Banwell, with Keira Howse replying. Bishop's
Lydeard Res meanwhile got the better of a high scoring affair, 8-5 against Paulton Rovers
Res. Alex Husson scored a hat-trick for Lydeard along with Tilli Davidson (2), Nia Owen (2) and
Jade Brammall, whilst Darcy Baber and Alice Ford both hit doubles in reply along with Alice
Dwyer. Newly promoted Wells City meanwhile defeated Wellington 2-0.
Jasmine Ford scored a hat-trick as Paulton Rovers Development made the fastest start
in Division Two North, beating Ashton Women 6-1. Mia Vickery (2) and Ella King added their
other goals, with Shannon Jennings replying. Caitlin Stevens netted twice along with Lucy Stacey,
Gemma Lee and Harriet Rogers for Burnham Utd in their 5-2 victory away to Woodspring
Women Res, who netted through Lauren Malone and Leah Bettison. Stevie-Jay Froom and
Lacey Wescott gave Highridge Utd a good start, beating Cheddar 2-0, and Berrow were also
2-0 winners away to Porlock thanks to Emily
