FA Women’s Championship
Durham Women continue to stretch the pace at the top of the FA Women’s
Championship and notched up their sixth win in seven matches when they
beat third placed London City Lionesses 1-0. Dee Bradley headed in the
only goal of the game with just four minute on the
clock and the Wildcats held on in a closely
contested second half for three valuable points.
Liverpool stay close at hand in second
place following their 2-0 victory over Lewes.
Leanne Kiernan has been in fine form in recent
weeks and she scored both goals during the first
half to hand her side a fourth straight win.
Sunderland put an end to a four-match
run without a win with a 1-0 success away to
Charlton Athletic, which moves them back into
the top half. The only goal came just after the half
hour, when experienced defender Grace McCatty
slotted home following a goalmouth scramble.
Bristol City produced their best result of Sheffield Utd defend a corner against Bristol City
