interval deficit to record a 3-2 win over Barnsley (Women) Development. Demi Cassinelli
netted the first pair for Socrates from outside the area, while the winner by Vale Basso, also of
Italian descent, came in stoppage time. Jess Broadhurst, Abi Shepherd and Anaia Willoughby
were on target for Rotherham Utd Whitehill who won 3-1 at Chesterfield Women, whose
consolation came from Katie Barker.
There were just three games played in Division Two, but they yielded 28 goals with the
lowest tally being Mosborough’s 8-0 win at Dronfield Town Res. Leah Kerr bagged a hat-
trick, assisted by doubles from Kelsey Hallam and Laura Kerr with Alice Maleham completing the
scoring. Swallownest were the day’s highest scorers with Emily Allen, Leona Stafford and Tasha
Lindley all scoring twice as they won 9-2 at Sheffield City. Emily Box, Brooke Chappell and
Hayley Hulme all netted once each. Both Yasmin Bird and Laura Ferguson netted twice for
Mexborough Athletic who enjoyed a 4-1 interval advantage at home to Handsworth
Development. However, it was a different story in the second half as the visitors, enjoying the
backing of a stiff breeze and the slope hit back to win by the odd goal in nine. Connie Hibbert
bagged a hat-trick with Emma Rowland and Beth Thomas also scoring.
Emily Deans (2), Alex Meakin and Poppy Webb netted for AFC Norton Woodseats
whose debut ended in a 4-0 victory at West End Terriers in Division Three. Emma Fleetwood
scored both for Dearne & District who won 2-1 at home to Mind Over Matter, Olivia Mitchell
on target for the visitors. Grace Newbold, Carly Rowlands and Molly Scollay were the scorers for
Staveley Miners Welfare in their 3-1 success at Charnock Ridgeway whose reply came from
Grace Taylor.
Somerset League
Bishop's Lydeard Res kept hold of the leadership of Division One as second half goals from
Ellie Black, Tilli Davidson and Emma Fellows gave them a 3-0 victory over Wellington. They lead
the way by three points from Champions Pen Mill, who defeated Ilminster Town Res 7-2
thanks to Megan Gratton (2), Leonie Hobbs (2), Charlotte Harmer, Rebecca Roberts and Lorna
Jennings. Bath City won for the first time, 1-0 against Paulton Rovers Res, with Emily Bristow
scoring the only goal of the game. Portishead Town Res stormed to a 7-0 success away to
Woodspring Women, Courtney Bean and Eloise Hubbard each netting twice along with Kiera
Bull, Ellie Challenger and Emily Edwards.
Highridge Utd continued their impressive start in Division Two by scoring eight times
without reply away to Ashton FC Women. Stevie-Jay Froom netted twice and she was joined on
the scoresheet by Jess Bailey, Leanne Mitchell, Louise Robbins, Lacey Wescott, Katie Gardiner
and Carmela Mancinetti. Highridge have a two point lead from Burnham Utd, who were 2-1
winners at Porlock, Vanessa Brill scoring both of their goals and Christina Storey replying.
Berrow are also two points off the pace, they beat Cheddar 4-2 thanks to Steff Rix (2), Emily
Moreton and Chloe Williams. Kirsten Cook and Ashleigh Richards replied for the Cheesewomen.
Kelly Edwards scored the only goal of the game late on for Hutton as they won for the first time,
1-0 against Woodspring Women Res.
Ella Hartley and Ebony Sellick scored a goal apiece as Division One South leaders
Wellington Wildcats won 2-0 against Pen Mill Res. Bridport Youth Ladies beat
Wincanton Town 6-0 and are two points
behind in second, Lauren Poynton notching a Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
