Introducing Melksham Town A.F.C. Cont….
Theo Lynden
Theo recently joined us from Bristol Rovers and has shown himself as a versatile and
effective player in either defence or midfield. He has shown maturity and enterprise in all of
the games played in so far. He has played at left back, centre half and midfield in his games
to date and looked comfortable on each occasion.
MIDFIELDERS
Ralph Graham
The energetic midfielder has proven to be a vital asset as the fixtures come thick and fast.
Whether coming off the bench or in the starting side, Ralph always has the potential to
change a game with his attacking intent. A former Swindon Town professional, he has also
played in the National League with Hungerford Town. He is an all action player who has
become a regular starter at Melksham during the past two seasons.
Luke Ballinger
Melksham Town legend Luke Ballinger re-joined the club from Corsham a couple of months
into last season. Not only is Luke a former England Futsal captain and record cap holder, he
also has a gift for scoring goals; be it a 30-yard screamer or being in the right place at the
right time in the box. Luke is now the clubs assistant manager and will combine this with his
playing role.
Sam Hendy
Sam offers a dynamic and hard running dimension to the Melksham midfield. The former
Forest Green Rovers man is an accomplished set piece taker and has the ability to play in a
deep or advanced position when occupying midfield. He is currently one of the top scorers
in the side and leads by example. Our captain and a natural leader of the young team.
Henry Sady
Henry signed for Town from near neighbours Corsham Town in the autumn of 2023. He is a
poised and balanced player. Comfortable in any part of the midfield or as a full back / wing
back. He has shown a versatility and willingness to play for the team in a variety of roles
since joining Melksham. He scored his debut goals in the Wiltshire Premier Shield and can
be a real threat when getting forward.
Albie Hopkins
Since joining the club in 2019, Albie has made a name for himself as a scorer of important
goals. Quick and versatile, Albie can be utilised on either side of the pitch to make full use
of his pace and skill. Formerly of Oxford United, Albie has football league pedigree to his
career and the Melksham fans get to see this anytime he has the ball at his feet.
Alex Henshall
Alex started his career in youth football with Swindon Town, before earning a move to
Manchester City. An England youth international at under 17 level, Alex has exceptional
pedigree and has already made a very positive impression at Melksham following his debut
goal against Frome Town on Boxing Day. A skilful and poised player who is one of Mark
Collier's first signings, he will bring Football League experience following spells with Ipswich
Town, Chesterfield and Bristol Rovers.
Joseph Porton
Joe joined on loan from Bristol City in February 2023 before signing for the forthcoming
season in July 2023. He is a highly rated midfielder who has represented Wales at youth
level. He made his debut against Wimborne Town and has become a firm favourite with the
fans with his eye for a pass and tenacity in the midfield.
Otis Lewis
Otis signed on dual terms with Melksham after graduating from the Chippenham Town
Academy to their First team earlier in 2023. Otis is an energetic and relentless attacking
player who is renowned for his ability to get around the pitch and score important goals. He
scored on his debut against Bemerton Heath, and looks to be an impressive addition to the
squad.
