The Vitality Women’s FA Cup
The Vitality Women's FA Cup got underway for another season on
Sunday, with the First Round Qualifying opening up and 77 ties taking
place.
Hartlepool Pools Youth are through to the next stage
following their 5-2 victory away to Birtley Town, which earns them a
home tie with Darlington Women, 4-2 winners over CLS Amazons. Penrith AFC Ladies
meanwhile defeated Gateshead Leam Rangers 7-2 and now go to Gateshead Rutherford
Ladies. West Allotment Celtic now play Washington Association after a nine-goal blast
against Carlisle Utd and Gateshead FC Ladies went three better, beating Guisborough Town
12-0 to set up a meeting with Spennymoor Town.
Bishop Auckland emerged as winners from a penalty shootout after their tie with Stanwix
Ladies finished level at 2-2, they will now be up against Blyth Town. Workington Reds returned
from Durham Utd with a 4-1 victory under their belts, their reward is a tough one as they go to
Hartlepool Utd. Boro Rangers will host Redcar Town after they won 8-3 at Thornaby FC
Ladies, Jade Danks leading the scoring with a four-goal haul with Lou Brown, Larissa Burkinshaw
and Jade Featherstone also on target. Ripon City edged past Hepworth Utd 3-2 thanks to a Louise
Wilson double and Chloe Bethell, they will now be away to Harrogate Town. Grimsby Borough
scored seven times without reply away to Appleby Frodingham and now play Chesterfield.
Altofts Ladies scored ten times away to South Cave, Emily Scott and Nicola Smith both
hitting hat-tricks along with Nadine Bates, Hollie Betts, Amy Tilford and Louise Whitt, setting up a
tie with Farsley Celtic. Harworth Colliery defeated Cleethorpes Town 3-0 and will up against
Wakefield Trinity. Amy Ward, Eleanor Robinson, Jamie-Leigh Neale-Wright and Eleanor Worsley
all scored for Hull Utd in their 4-1 victory away to Yorkshire Amateur, to book themselves a trip
to Oughtibridge WM.
Annabel Davies scored both goals as Dronfield Town defeated Barnsley FC Ladies 2-1
and they will now host Grimsby Town (see match report). Farsley Celtic Juniors will go to
Ossett Utd following their 4-1 success away to Silsden.
Hindley Juniors Ladies were 3-2 winners away to Ashton Utd and will next host
Mossley Hill, whilst Didsbury Ladies beat Nantwich Town 2-1 to secure a trip to AFC
Darwen. Macclesfield Town were 6-4 victors in a high scoring affair with Pilkington Ladies,
they now to go Morecambe, and Northwich Vixens will play Cheadle Town Stingers following
their 2-1 success at Penwortham Town. Blackburn Community SC defeated Warrington
Wolves 4-2 to set up a tie with Sale Utd, Ashton Town Lionesses will travel to Altrincham
after they won 3-1 against West Kirby.
BRNESC were 3-2 victors away to Sandbach Utd and will next face Runcorn Linnets,
who beat Preston North End Women 4-1. Haslingden Ladies edged out Alder FC Women
by the odd goal in seven and will host Crewe Alexandra, whilst Salford City Lionesses' reward
for winning 5-4 against Curzon Ashton is a meeting with Chester FC Women. Wythenshawe
Amateurs ran out 4-0 winners over Egerton and will face a trip to Merseyrail Ladies.
Nottingham Trent University scored ten times without reply away to Hinckley Ladies
and will be at home to Bugbrooke St Michaels whose match with Rugby Town was considerably
closer, Bugbrooke winning on penalties following a 4-4 draw. Kettering Town will play Notts
County Women after their 3-0 success away to Sherwood FC Women. Leicester Road have
set up a local derby tie with Leicester City Ladies in the next round, thanks to a 3-1 win at
Coalville Town Ravenettes.
Anstey Nomads scored six times without reply past Ketton to set themselves up with a trip
to Woodlands Ladies and Thrapston Town defeated Rugby Borough 2-0, they will be up
against Corby S & L. Arnold Eagles won 6-1 against Nuneaton Borough and are now away to
Loughborough Students.
Walsall Wood were 6-1 winners over Sedgley & Gornal Utd and will be at home to AFC
Telford Utd who triumphed 3-1 at Droitwich Spa. Kingfisher beat Port Vale 3-1 and now take
on Lichfield City. Sandwell Ladies got past Redditch Borough with a 2-1 victory to set up a
home tie with Solihull Sporting. Shifnal Town swept through with a 10-1 victory over Wyrley
