hard fought 1-0 win away to Frampton Rangers. A close match was settled midway through the
second half when Hannah Price scored the only goal of the game. Rebecca Donnelly scored for
Cheltenham Town Development as they shared a 1-1 draw with Almondsbury, whose reply
came from Rosie Harris. Downend Flyers and Weston-super-Mare finished level at 2-2, earning
each side their first point of the season. Faith Flynn and Beth Pitman were on target for Downend,
Weston replying with a double from Rebecca Dando.
Forest Green Rovers push on at the top of the Eastern Division, doubling their
advantage to six points by winning 2-1 away to Swindon Town Development. Beth Edwards and
Cerys Jones scored for Rovers, whilst the home side's consolation came from Ria Salleh. AEK Boco
meanwhile notched up their first win, 5-0 against previously unbeaten Laverstock & Ford. Eloise
Nicholas, Grace Sanderson, Ellie Staples, Jessica Titcomb and Lara Ferris all scored a goal apiece for
Boco.
It was a case of 'honours even' throughout the Western Division with all three matches
ending in draws. Alphington hold on to the leadership after finishing level at 3-3 with Plympton
Ladies. Helen Kukor netted twice for the Alphas along with Sophie-Louise Simpson, whilst
Plympton's markswomen were Dionne Igalawuye, Sam Metters and Shannon Workman. Chevonne
Johanning bagged a brace for AFC St Austell as they took a two-goal lead into the interval against
Feniton, who hit back after the break to earn a share of the spoils thanks to Abi Breban and Caragh
O'Brien. St Agnes and Pen Mill each registered their first point when sharing four goals, courtesy
of braces from Emily Geach and Letisha Templer respectively.
Southern Region League
The season opened up in the Premier Division on Sunday and it was Abingdon Utd who took the
honours when they won 6-1 away to Newbury Ladies. Lauren May netted twice along with Nell
Boxall, Taya McCalmon, Amy Chivers and Molly Lygo-Jackson. Winchester City Flyers edged out
Oxford City by the odd goal in seven, thanks to a Libby Wilkinson hat-trick and Shayne Prasad.
Daisy Nielsen, Ellie White and Alisha Johnson all replied for Oxford. Michelle Quinn scored the only
goal of the game for Woodley Utd in their 1-0 victory away to Ascot Utd.
Abingdon Town matched their local rivals in going to top spot in Division One, thanks to
a 4-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth CST Development, courtesy of two goals apiece from
Chloe Ball and Isi Meade. Sarah Plummer, Hollie Shaw and Amber Madkour were all on the
scoresheet as Bournemouth Sports ran out 3-0 winners away to Southampton Women Res.
Deanna Cane bagged a brace for Tilehurst Panthers in their 2-2 draw with Abbey Rangers, for
whom Lauren Timbrell netted twice, whilst New Milton Town and Eastleigh finished level at 1-1,
goals coming from Victoria Wardle and Keeley Fitzgerald respectively.
West Midlands League
The top two in the Premier Division were not in action over the weekend and Coventry Sphinx are
up into third after winning 2-1 away to Coundon Court, Alex Shilton and Joanne Ryan scoring their
goals. Crusaders made it two wins out of two as they pipped City of Stoke by the odd goal in five,
courtesy of an Ella Thompson-Moulding double and Kirsty Spencer. Sutton Coldfield Town
belatedly began their league campaign with a 6-1 victory at Lye Town in which Imogen Fisher and
Jamie-Leigh Fowler each netted twice along with Alison Forbes and Abbie Hyland.
AFC Telford Utd have taken over the leadership of Division One North with a 6-1 win
against Sandwell Ladies. Jaime Duggan and Jennifer Higgs each bagged doubles and they were
joined on the scoresheet by Hannah Canning and Lauren McCaffrey. Holly Meehan (2), Laura
Cumberledge, Rachel Cumberledge, Leanne Mitchell and Kaz Harrigan-Clough gave Wyrley Ladies
a 6-4 victory over Shrewsbury Town to take themselves up to third, ahead of Shifnal Town who
were beaten 2-0 by Tamworth, goals coming from Chloe Gillett and Ella Spears. Port Vale notched
up their first win and points of the season when scoring seven without reply past Coventry City.
In Division One South, Solihull Sporting lead the way after their 6-0 win away to Rugby
Town. Janelle Straker spearheaded the win with a hat-trick while Isabelle Haigh (2) and Chantai
Ahmed accounted for the other goals. Sarah Kennedy, Elloise Russell and Katie Edwards were the
scorers as Kingfisher won 3-0 at Cookley Sports to go second. Stourbridge follow on after their
ten-goal blast against Leamington Lions. Ruby Meeson, Alex Nicklin and Mollie-Mai Summers
each scored twice, with one apiece from Carly Aldred, Amy Plimmer, Esme Moran and Georgia
Thacker. Knowle complete the top four when beating Sedgley & Gornal Utd 6-0 with goals from
Georgia Jones (2), Charlotte Fisher (2), Alice Belcher and Ebony Harris.
