Division One South leaders Herne Bay saw their match against Lewes Foundation
Squad abandoned in the 53rd minute with Lewes 2-0 up at the time, due to an injury to one of the
Bay players. They remain top on goal difference from Crawley Wasps DS who ran out 8-2 winners
at Hassocks. Lauren Callaghan scored a hat-trick and Amy Thomson contributed a brace, with
further goals from Danielle Boyd, Rosanne Fine and Natalie Stephenson. Parkwood Rangers
entered the top three following their 3-2 victory over Newhaven in which Corrie Goodhew, Rachel
Mugami and Faye Tompsett were all on target.
North East League
York City are the only team so far to have two wins from two games in the Premier Division,
doubling their tally by winning 4-2 at Sheffield Wednesday. Shannon Durkin netted twice for York
along with Emily Cattle and Eleanor Hall, with Emma Otley and Jodie Stancill replying. Harrogate
Town are two points off the pace in second, Emily Topham scoring the only goal of the game as they
beat Farsley Celtic 1-0. Abby Towers, Jade Dryden and Eve Gattens were the markswomen for
South Shields in their 3-2 win at Redcar Town, whose replies came from Tyler Sharp and
Charlotte Morris, whilst Jordane Allison and Chelsea Schofield were on target for Ossett Utd as they
shared a 2-2 draw with Wallsend Boys Club, who scored through Cara Moran and Emma Hewett.
Kirsty Gillis netted twice, with Sarah Hutchieson and Jamie Sugden adding the others, as
Lumley Ladies went three points clear at the top of the Northern Division with a 4-3 win away to
Boro Rangers. Sunderland West End went second after scoring ten times without reply at
Norton & Stockton Ancients Res. Allison Ferris bagged herself a four-goal haul, Alex Ross netted
a brace and the others were scored by Isla Maggs, Kay Mills, Emma Banks and Melissa Simpson.
Chester-le-Street Town Development and Bishop Auckland are in the next two positions
after their meeting ended level at 3-3. Jessica Clark, Jessica Ellison and Hannah McStay-Fenn all
scored for the Cestrians, with Bishop Auckland replying through Sophie Wood, Katie Raine and an
own goal. Washington Association won for the first time, 2-0 against West Allotment Celtic
thanks to Courtney Mole and Amber Metcalfe.
Altofts Ladies have gone to the top of the Southern Division on the back of a 3-1 victory
away to Harrogate Town Development. The home side led at the break through a goal from
Sophia Lyons but Altofts hit back in the second half to take the points thanks to Emily Scott, Nicola
Smith and Emma Richardson. Millie Sharp, Victoria Stonehouse and Lauren Tate accounted for the
goals as Hull Utd opened up their league campaign with a 3-3 draw against Wakefield Trinity,
who scored through Chelsea Pilmer, Demi Godson and Emily Heckler.
North West League
West Didsbury & Chorlton are the early leaders in the Premier Division and have a lead of three
points following their 2-1 win against Merseyrail Ladies. Morecambe opened up their campaign
with a 4-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers whilst FC United of Manchester were 3-2 winners
away to Crewe Alexandra. Mossley Hill got themselves off the mark when they defeated Wigan
Athletic 3-1, whilst Fleetwood Town Wrens and Cheadle Town Stingers both commenced
their respective league seasons by battling out a 3-3 draw.
It is only very early stages in Division One North but Penrith AFC are sitting on top of the
fledgling table after scoring six times without reply past Morecambe Res. The other match to be
played on Sunday saw AFC Darwen open up with a 1-0 victory over Blackpool.
Likewise in Division One South, only a handful of games have been played but Chester FC
Women have maximum points from two matches, following their 5-3 victory against Runcorn
Linnets. Wythenshawe Amateurs are the only other team to have won a match so far, doing so
on Sunday with a 5-0 success over West Kirby. Didsbury Ladies and Northwich Vixens are
both off the mark though after their meeting finished level at 1-1.
South West League
Portishead Town make it three teams level on points at the top of the Premier Division after their
4-1 victory away to Torquay Utd. Emily Lindsey and Alanna Torrington each scored twice for
Portishead, with Torquay's consolation coming from Ellie Bishop. Bishop's Lydeard meanwhile
battled out a 2-2 draw with Wootton Bassett Town, who picked up their first point of the season.
Holly Miller and Caitlin Berry were on target for Lydeard, with both of Bassett's goals coming from
Grace Eagles.
Bristol Ladies Union have extended their Northern Division lead to five points after a
