It was a fantastic line up of games over the weekend for the quarter final stage of the Genero
Adran Trophy –three Tier 2 teams had made it through and an even split of North v South clubs.
In Cardiff, both the Bluebirds and Met welcomed travelling Tier 2 teams, Llandudno
and Connah’s Quay Nomads respectively, with both home sides enjoying a convincing win
to get through to the semi final stage.
Cardiff City Women proved to be too strong on the day for Llandudno, scoring ten
times without reply. Phoebie Poole led the scoring with a hat-trick whilst Siobhan Walsh and
Lily Billingham each netted twice, with Ffion Price, Danielle Broadhurst and Danielle Green
       also got on the scoresheet.
Cardiff Met Women meanwhile ran out 6-0 winners over Connah’s Quay, Tija
Richardson netting twice for the Archers along with Robyn Pinder, Ellie Preece, Evie Griffiths
       and Kennesha Nanette.
The New Saints and Pontypridd Utd met for the second time in seven days, after last
weeks’ rearranged league match, but with the home venue reversed; the victors were
unchanged however with TNS taking the tie 2-0. Isobel Redding gave TNS the lead shortly
before half time and Emily Ridge sewed up the win with the second goal, seven minutes from
       time.
In the final match, Aberystwyth Town hosted Wrexham and players of both sides
paid respects to Kevin ‘Bones’ Jenkins, former Aber coach who passed away last week. In a
fitting tribute, Amy Jenkins - Bones’ daughter - opened the scoring for the home side ten
minutes before half time, setting the scene for another 2-0 home win to send Aber into the
semis after Bethan Roberts scored the
second goal early in the second half. PREMIER DIVISION P W D L F A Pts GD
