East Midlands League
In the only match throughout the league to be played on Sunday, Basford Utd moved up
into mid-table by winning 2-1 away to Arnold Eagles. Jess Shaw bagged a brace for
Basford, whilst the home side's late consolation goal came from Demi-Leigh Crofts.
It has been a busy few days for Basford Utd as just two days after their league game, they
took on Chesterfield in the Second Round of the League Cup. It was Chesterfield who
booked their place in the quarter finals with a 3-1 victory, courtesy of goals from Millie Geer,
Millie Standen and Georgina Williams with Katie Platts replying.
Eastern Region League
Bedford Ladies have climbed off the bottom of the Premier Division after beating Colney
Heath 2-1. After a goalless first half, Natasha Fensome and Hannah Glasspool scored to
hand Bedford their second victory of the season, whilst Colney replied through Elsbeth
Cunningham.
The only other action came in the League Cup Second Round, where Barking emerged
as 3-1 winners from their much delayed tie against Wodson Park. The two teams had met
in the league seven days earlier and shared six goals on that occasion but this time, Laura
Bunton netted a brace and Fran Pridie added the other to take Barking into the next round.
London & South East League
Ebbsfleet Utd started the day in the bottom half of the Premier Division table but by
winning their games in hand, they could still have a big say in the title race. They started this
off well with a 5-0 victory away to AFC Acorns which takes them up to fifth. Amelia
Woodgate led the scoring for Fleet with a hat-trick and the other goals came from Ellie
Perkins and Lydia Wills.
One match went ahead in Division One North, where leaders Clapton Community
edged a point clear at the top after their match with fifth placed Sport London e Benfica
finished goalless.
Hastings Utd have opened up a lead of three points in Division One South after scoring
eight times without reply past Maidstone Utd. Sian Heather netted a brace for Hastings
and she was joined on the scoresheet by Beth Creese, Charlotte Gurr, Claire Johnson, Ella
Roper, Brooke Nicholson-Rogan and Nia Staton. Newhaven meanwhile ran out 5-0
winners away to Steyning Town Community, virtually repeating the result in the League
Trophy seven days earlier. Chloe Evans netted twice for Newhaven along with Katie Franks,
Charlotte Markham and Jamie Quinn.
North East League
Wakefield caught up ground on the top three, thanks to a 3-1 victory away to third placed
Wallsend Boys Club. After Jessica Ellison had given Wallsend an early lead, Wakefield hit
back to take the points thanks to a Rebecca Hunt double and Zoe Laughton. Alnwick Town
meanwhile ran out 5-0 winners away to Harrogate Town, Michelle Stewart hitting a
hat-trick along with Katie Ellwood and Jenny Patterson.
Northern Division leaders Washington Women crashed to a 5-1 defeat away to
Hartlepool Utd but hold on to top spot. Robyn Foster (2), Jessica Bage, Emily Stuart and
Atalia Robinson scored the goals to take Hartlepool into third, three points off the pace.
Thornaby Ladies kept themselves in the hunt, thanks to a 2-1 victory over Chester-le-
Street Utd. Charlotte Morris and Beth Carwardine both scored for Thornaby, with Eleanor
Crawford replying. Aislinn Carroll, Beth Williamson and Charlotte Scott all netted for
Hartlepool Pools Youth as they beat Bishop Auckland 3-2, meanwhile West
Allotment Celtic won for the first time, 3-2 at Gateshead FC Ladies, goals from Chloe
