Notts County have clinched the Premier Division title and are promoted to the FA
Women's National League, celebrating in style with a 3-0 victory over Mansfield Town
at Meadow Lane on Monday night. Summer Gayle and Holly Fowler gave County a two-
goal lead at the break, with Audrey Huskisson-Moore completing the scoring midway
through the second half. County had been all but assured of the title on Sunday when
Chesterfield, the only remaining team who could have overhauled them at the time, were
held to a 1-1 draw by Rotherham Utd, goals coming from Amy Pashley and Nnola Oyeka
respectively. That result allowed Lincoln Utd to take replace Chesterfield in second by
beating Oughtibridge WM 3-0. Monique Price, Simran Singh and Kayleigh Needham
scored the goals as Anstey Nomads won 3-1 away to Basford Utd, whose consolation
came from Summer Reece.
Grimsby Town are closing in on the Division One North title, moving closer to their
target by winning 2-0 away to Sleaford Town with goals from Beth Wharton and Alisha
Dejonge. Grimsby Borough meanwhile defeated Lincoln Utd Development 4-0,
Immogen Hopper netting twice along with Natalie Aird and Jude Hall.
Dronfield Town suffered a setback to their title challenge in Division One Central
when they were beaten 3-1 by Asfordby Amateurs, who kept their own hopes well and
truly alive. Dronfield would have replaced Ilkeston Town as leaders if they had avoided
defeat but despite a goal from Kristine Humble, Asfordby - who can go top if they win their
games in hand - stepped up their challenge thanks to a Sarah Brown hat-trick. West
Bridgford Colts meanwhile moved into mid-table after Samantha Burton and Ellie Cook
gave them a 2-1 victory away to Sherwood FC Women, who replied through Georgia
Bannister.
Dunton & Broughton Utd kept the Division One South title race alive as they won
3-2 at Peterborough Utd Development. Any result but a win would have seen
Northampton Town Development as Champions but goals from Emma Aspinall,
Samantha Hargrave and Emily Miles kept Dunton in the hunt. Aimee Smith (2), Lauren
Adams, Samantha Christie and Michelle Smith accounted for the goals as third placed
Kettering Town defeated Leicester City Ladies 5-0 and Thrapston Town were 4-1
winners away to Loughborough Foxes Vixens, Amelia Boddington netting twice along
with Abby Callaghan and Katherine Ford.
Eastern Region League
League leaders AFC Sudbury are through to the semi finals of the League Cup after they
defeated King's Lynn Town 7-0. Jessica Allen and Holly Kennard each netted twice
along with Kate Edwards, Phoebe Glover and Sophie Jeffery. Also in the last four are fellow
title challengers Stevenage Women, 4-2 winners away to Royston Town thanks to
Mathilda Fidler (2), Nicole Farmer and Lucy Webster.
Division One North leaders AFC Dunstable are out of the League Plate, beaten 1-0
by Hutton for whom Isobel Boyd scored the only goal of the game. All three of the quarter
final ties which were played turned out to be very close ones, with Hutton the only victors
in open play. Newmarket Town defeated AFC Sudbury Res on a penalty shootout
after the match finished goalless and St Ives Town were also spot kick winners over
Wodson Park, Emily Ingle and Donna Nicholls netting for St Ives as the mach ended in
a 2-2 draw, Wodson's markswomen were Kristina O'Connell and Sophie Vale.
One match was played in the Premier Division and Haringey Borough are
continuing to push themselves into the title race, climbing up to third after beating
