East Midlands League
The League Cup got underway for another season on Sunday and it was a good day for all of the
Premier Division teams as they all survived ties against opponents from a lower division.
Rotherham Utd were given the biggest scare as they won 3-2 against Roade Ladies with goals
from Rachel Hale, Lori-Anne Tart and Lottie Tattam. Mansfield Town meanwhile defeated
Nottingham Trent University 3-1, Georgia Gladwin, Caitlin Hughes and Ellie Marshall all
scoring a goal apiece. Notts County meanwhile scored eight times without reply past
Loughborough Foxes Vixens, Summer Gayle hitting a hat-trick along with Shoniqua Barnes
(2), Skye Lakin-Wright (2) and Alice Hayes. Jade-Alice Lang and Kayleigh Needham each scored
twice, with Rhea Patel adding the other, as Anstey Nomads defeated Sleaford Town 5-1 and
Arnold Eagles defeated Peterborough Utd Development 4-0 thanks to Amy Gauvrit, Eve
Shaw, Jennifer Lorimer and Natasha Leach. Grace Abbott and Jessica Shaw each bagged doubles
for Basford Utd in their 4-1 victory over Mansfield Hosiery Mills and Oughtibridge WM
won 8-1 away to St Josephs Rockware of Worksop, thanks to a Millie Kenyon hat-trick, Lucy
Ridley (2), Amber Zakria, Laura Cain and Jennifer Pearson.
Charlotte Murphy (2), Keira Doig, Chloe Martin and Heather McLoughlin were the scorers
as Northampton Town Development defeated Grimsby Borough 5-0. Maisy Dalton
scored a hat-trick for Leicester City Ladies as they won 7-3 against Lincoln Utd
Development with Lola Barrett, Jessica Gough, Daisy Haggis and Phoebe James joining her on
the scoresheet. Lauren Adams (2), Samantha Christie, Kylie Evans and Mikaela Welford all
scored to give Kettering Town a 5-2 victory over West Bridgford Colts. Dronfield Town
got the better of Sherwood FC Women on penalties after the teams had shared ten goals;
Kristine Humble netted twice for Dronfield along with Ruby Burns, Rebecca Hill and Carly Gill,
whilst Bella Reed hit a hat-trick and Katie Fish added the other two for Sherwood. Nikki Lidgett
netted twice for Dunton & Broughton Utd as they beat Thrapston Town 2-1, Katherine
Ford replying.
Eastern Region League
Stevenage Women have moved into second place in the Premier Division following a 3-0
victory away to Harlow Town. Amy Makewell, Kelsey Millen and Lucy Webster scored the goals
for Stevenage who are five points behind leaders Luton Town and ahead of Haringey
Borough on goal difference after they won 4-3 against Bedford Ladies, courtesy of a goal
apiece from Victoria Campbell, Chloe Ions, Shakira Roberts and Kylie Manktelow. Alex Penny
was on target four times and Kate Edwards hit a hat-trick as AFC Sudbury beat Wroxham 9-0,
Evie Creaton and Tyeonae Smith accounting for the other goals.
These were the only league matches played on Sunday as the other divisions were involved
in the League Cup. Biggleswade Utd advanced with a 2-1 victory over St Ives Town in which
Haile Richards and Kayleigh Gray scored and their fellow divisional leaders, Barking also won,
4-2 against Grays Athletic with goals from Ammarah Ali (2), Laura Bunton and Faith Reilly.
Elise Jennings scored twice and Marnie Ray the other as Billericay Town Development
defeated AFC Dunstable 3-0.
London & South East League
The League Cup took centre stage on Sunday and Brentford were one of two teams to knock out
Premier Division opponents, winning 2-1 against AFC Acorns. Kirsty Matthews and Nikki
Saunders scored the goals for Brentford, with Sami Phillips replying. Sport London e Benfica
meanwhile defeated New London Lionesses 6-0, courtesy of doubles from Elizabeth Ashcroft,
Kimberly Castro and Kendal Drake. League leaders Millwall Lionesses meanwhile won 4-0
against Richmond Park with goals from Sharna Giordani, Lucy Jellett, Kaydence Kabadaki and
Milly Penfold. Chloe Winchester scored a hat-trick, with Georgia Tibble and Katie Young adding
the others, as Worthing FC Women defeated Eastbourne Utd 5-2 whilst Dartford were 1-0
victors at Ashford Utd, Nicha Dyett netting the only goal, and strikes from Ede Buchele (2) and
