Cup Final ticket sales reach 40,000
The FA can confirm that following another busy week of ticket sales, 40,000 tickets have been
issued for the forthcoming Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final.
With less than a week remaining before the big London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea
on Sunday 5th December, fans have continued to show their desire to be present for one of the
most anticipated games of the year after a further 10,000 tickets were issued in the last week.
The Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s top two will meet for the first time since they
played a thriller on the opening day of the season, in which Arsenal won 3-2, with Gunners fans
hoping that Wembley will be red come full time of the Final, with Chelsea fans eager for it to be
Blue.
In what is the 50th anniversary of the competition, there are announcements due over the
coming week to confirm the celebratory activity taking place on the day.

Ella Henderson to perform at Final
English singer-songwriter Ella Henderson will perform a number of her chart-topping singles to
kick start the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley
Stadium connected by EE on Sunday 5th December.
In addition, Henderson will also have the honour of singing the national anthem ahead of
the kick off.
Performing tracks such as This Is Real and Ghost, the X Factor star will take to the pitch to
get the crowd pumping ahead of a fierce London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea.
Ella’s performance is one of several events taking place on the day to celebrate the historic
50th year of the biggest domestic cup competition in women’s football. Full details of the
celebrations were released during the week ahead of the game.
Ahead of the day, Ella said: “It’s an honour to be playing at Wembley Stadium ahead of this
year’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final, it’s the biggest day in the diary for the teams and their fans
alike, and so special given the 50th anniversary. I know there’s a huge crowd attending with over
40,000 tickets sold already, and I can’t wait to be on the pitch to get the occasion, and a real
celebration of women’s football, started.”

anniversary of the Women’s FA Cup is a true celebration of the game, and an opportunity to reflect
on its remarkable growth as we near the end of another remarkable year for the women’s game
that has seen increased visibility and interest.
“To have issued over 40,000 tickets is a wonderful illustration of the growth of the women’s
fan base and the dedicated following the women’s teams now have. Ella’s performance will ensure
the match day starts on a high, and we are thrilled to have her play at Wembley Stadium.”
Further details around special match day activities will be shared across The FA’s social
platforms in the build-up to the game via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The match will be
shown live on BBC One, with live coverage of the pre-match build-up beginning at 1.30pm.
Lydia is new Leicester manager
Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Lydia Bedford as LCFC
Women’s new First Team Manager. Lydia, currently England Women’s Youth Team Head Coach,
joins the Foxes on a contract to the end of the 2021-22 season and will commence her role with
LCFC Women on 6th December.
