Wednesday 7-6. Tamryn Dunlop and Jodie Langstaff each bagged hat-tricks and Chelsea
Haskins joined them on the scoresheet, whilst Amy Broomhead also scored three in a losing
cause, with Molly Wilde (2) and Laurie Millington also finding the net for Wednesday. After
nine straight defeats, Bradford Park Avenue celebrated their first victory of the season, 3-2
against Farsley Celtic Juniors with a Melissa West hat-trick.
North West League
League leaders FC United of Manchester went down to their first defeat of the season,
beaten 5-4 by Salford City Lionesses who go level on points with them but having played
two games more. Cheadle Town Stingers are just two points off the pace following their 2-1
victory over Tranmere Rovers. Blackburn Community SC narrowly won 3-2 against
Curzon Ashton whilst Crewe Alexandra edged out Fleetwood Town Wrens 2-1 and
Darwen FC Women got off the mark in style, beating Mossley Hill 4-1.
Haslingden defeated Workington Reds 2-0 to return as leaders of Division One
North as previous leaders Blackpool were beaten 6-1 by Penrith AFC. Sarah Smith hit a
hat-trick for Penrith along with Heather Fawkes, Abbie Forster and Darcie Dixon, with Molly
Kelly replying. Third placed Accrington Stanley drew for the fourth time this season when
their match with Preston North End finished goalless. Morecambe's climb up the table
continued with a 2-1 win away to Chorley Women Development, Olivia Greene scoring
both goals, whilst Lilly Clark was on target for Sir Tom Finney in their 1-1 draw against
Penwortham Town. Bolton Wanderers have lifted themselves off the bottom of the table,
thanks to a 3-0 victory at Carlisle Utd.
A 3-2 win against Warrington Wolves Foundation keeps Bury AFC Women on
top of Division One South, one point ahead of Runcorn Linnets who beat Wythenshawe
Amateurs 5-0. Third placed Poulton Vics lost a little ground when they drew 2-2 against
Altrincham. Northwich Vixens were 6-2 winners away to Hindley Juniors Women
and Chester FC Women beat BRNESC Ladies by the same scoreline, a result which takes
them up to fifth.
South West League
The Premier Division title race has been opened up after leaders Forest Green Rovers were
beaten 5-0 by second placed Bristol Rovers. Forest Green had won both of their previous
meetings this season but this time, Zoe Fielden-Stewart scored twice and the others came from
Laura Curnock, Annys Turner and Georgia Vandries. Sherborne Town kept themselves
firmly in the running by defeating Wootton Bassett Town 3-0 with goals from Becky
Narramore, Kelly Snook and Olivia Watts, whilst Torquay Utd are just off the pace but with
games in hand after winning 3-0 at Poole Town, Esme Kilburn-Thompson bagging a brace
and Ellie Bishop the other. Ellie Orritt scored the only goal of the game as Ilminster Town
won 1-0 against local rivals Bishop's Lydeard.
The withdrawal of Chipping Sodbury Town from the Northern Division means that just
five clubs are still standing but with only four points covering them in the table. Frampton
Rangers hold on to the leadership despite going down to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of
Downend Flyers, Faith Flynn scoring the winner in injury time. Oldland Abbotonians
and St Vallier stay in second and third respectively after their match finished level at 1-1,
Bryony Higgs scoring for Oldland and St Vallier netting through Tianna Bishop.
Koren Thorner-Atkinson scored the only goal of the game for Frome Town against
Stockwood Wanderers and this has taken them four points clear at the top of the Eastern
Division. Pucklechurch Sports move into second but were pushed all the way in beating
Weston-super-Mare 4-3, Adele Hooper netting twice with Charlotte Davis and Sophie
Sweet adding the others for Pucklechurch, with Ellie Roberts (2) and Natasha Crew replying.
Middlezoy Rovers meanwhile climbed into the top half on the back of a 2-0 victory away to
