Introducing…..



       GOALKEEPER, TONY COURT
       Joined Yate Town from Almondsbury Town in 2001, and went on to make 285 appearances
       in both Hellenic and Southern Leagues. Noted for his calm temperament,he is a product of
       our Youth Team, for whom he played in 1995, before having trials with Bristol Rovers. His
       other clubs included Mangotsfield United and Bristol Manor Farm.
       DEFENDERS
       SHANE ANDREWS
       A tough-tackling central defender who joined Yate from Clevedon Town in 2004. Always paid
       his fines with good grace, and usually on time. Before joining us, he also played for Calne
       Town and Chippenham Town, for whom he played at Wembley in the FA Vase Final.
       SCOTT BRICE
       Surprisingly released by Bristol Rovers at the end of the 2004-2005 season, he played at
       Ange in Sweden before joining us for the following season, when he won both Players Player
       and Supporters awards, and went on to enjoy a long career at Lodge Road, again winning
       the Supporters choice as player of the year three seasons later.
       LEE JEFFERIES
       Central defender, he was given an early opportunity at Southern League level with us before
       moving  to  Clevedon  Town  where  he  made  over  300  appearances  before  moving  to
       Gloucester City in 2003. Rejoined Yate for the 2004-05 season, being made club captain, and
       winning both Players Player and Supporters awards.
       STEVE JENKINS
       Transferred  from  Chippenham  Town  in  September  2006,  having  previously  played  at
       Southampton, Brentford, Forest Green Rovers, Bath City and W.S.M.
       MARK SUMMERS
       Joined Yate from Mangotsfield United before the 2006-07 season, a defender with a good
       goal  scoring  record  who made 226  appearances  for  Mangos,  whom  he  had  joined  from
       Western League Brislington for a four-figure fee.
       ANDY NEAL
       A versatile and speedy player whose consistent, enthusiastic and whole hearted displays
       made him a firm favourite with fans A product of our Youth Team, he made a total of 296
       First Team appearances between 1997 and 2007, and was a popular choice as Supporters
       Player for the 2000-01 season
       MIDFIELDERS
       PAUL CHENOWETH
       Joined us as Player-Coach prior to the start of the 2004-05 season  from Tiverton Town.
       Started his career with Bristol Rovers before making his name in non-league football at Bath
       City, from whom he was transferred to Cheltenham Town for £15,000. Later transferred to
       Worcester City, he also had two spells at Gloucester City and a period with Merthyr Tydfil.
       PAUL DEMPSEY
       Club stalwart "Demo" played for Yate from 1990, and later had a great influence with our
       Reserve Team where his natural fitness put many younger players to shame.
       PAUL METHERINGHAM
       Another who started with our Youth Team in 1995, and played Southern League football for
       us at a very early age. Rejoined Yate at the start of the 2000-01 season after playing for
       Yeovil Town Reserves and Almondsbury Town. Our leading scorer that season and also in
       our promotion campaign from the Hellenic League two seasons later. Extremely dedicated
       and energetic, he became equally at home in midfield or up front.
       ADAM SIMS
       Joined us in 2004 from local rivals Mangotsfield United where he played 182 games
       and  scored  47  goals  in  four  seasons.  Spent  the  early  part  of  his  career  at
       Southampton, and seldom missed a match through injury.
