three years until joining Taunton Town in October 2021. A month later, he made the move to the
Seagulls.
Jordan Bastin - The summer signing spent time with the youth sides of Exeter, Plymouth and Tiverton
Town. He played for Tiverton Reserves before joining Elmore FC in 2017, scoring 70 goals in two seasons
before rejoining Tiverton, this time their first team. He scored 16 goals in 44 appearances across two
Covid-hit seasons before signing for Weston.
Dayle Grubb - The club legend signed for the club at 16 in 2007, captaining the under-18 and under-19
sides before moving into the first team during the 2009/2010 season. He spent the next eight seasons
as a pivotal role at the club, establishing himself as a firm fans’ favourite. In January 2018, he completed
a move to Forest Green Rovers in the EFL, spending the next 30 months there including a short loan
spell at Eastleigh. In August 2020, he rejoined the club on a four-year contract.

Bailey Kempster - Bailey joined the club in the summer of 2019 after spending his formative years
with North Somerset. Linking up with the under-19s, Bailey has spent the past two seasons under Mark
McKeever’s tutelage, which also included a loan spell with Willand Rovers in the league below during
2020/2021. In the summer of 2021, Bailey was officially promoted to Scott Bartlett’s first-team squad.
Currently on loan with Willand Rovers.

Jay Murray - Jay spent his youth days in Weston’s Academy and went on to feature for Congresbury
and Cheddar Reserves at youth level. He then went on to represent Odd Down twice and Hengrove
Athletic in the Western League before joining Clevedon Town, where his impressive performances across
a two-year span saw him sign for the Seagulls for the 21-22 season.
Sonny Cox - Sonny joined the Exeter Academy at the age of seven and progressed through their youth
ranks, being included on the bench a few times in the 2020-2021 season while still an under-16 player,
He signed a professional deal with the Grecians in July 2021 before turning fully professional in
November, having already appeared twice for their first-team that season. Sonny joined Weston on loan
in January 2022.
Ben Griffith - Ben joined the Academy as an under-13 player before moving into under-18 football. He
spent 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 gaining experience with the likes of Wrington Redhill, Clevedon Town
and Cheddar before joining the first-team at Weston. He also spent part of the 2020/2021 season on
loan with Willand Rovers. Currently on loan at Willand.
Marlon Jackson - The experienced striker began with the Bristol City Academy and spent loan spells
with Hereford United, Aldershot Town, Northampton, Cheltenham and AFC Telford. Upon leaving Bristol
City, he has spent time with Hereford, Bury, Lincoln City, FC Halifax, Oxford City, Tranmere Rovers and
Newport County. Jackson joined Weston for the first time in 2018, finishing as 2018-2019’s top scorer
before leaving for Gloucester City and then Chippenham Town. He returned to Weston in November
2021.
Nick McCootie - The powerful striker came through the academy at Bristol City before leaving for Yate
Town, going on to represent Taunton Town, Bridgwater Town, Cinderford Town and Paulton Rovers
before joining Bath City in 2014. Leading their line effectively, he became one of the league’s most-
feared strikers before joining Chippenham Town in 2018. Spending the next 18 months in Wiltshire, he
joined Weston in the summer of 2019.
Alfie Moulden - Joining Weston in October 2021, Alfie played locally for Devon with sides such as
Bideford, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple before getting his break with Willand Rovers after joining them in
2020. His impressive form for Willand at the start of the season saw the Seagulls snap him up quickly.
