Chichester & Selsey meanwhile
enjoyed a 3-0 win against Hounslow
Women. Gemma Simmonds gave Chi the lead
midway through the first half and she added a
second after the break, before Natasha Wild
rounded off the scoring late on.
       Division One North
Liverpool Feds have returned to the top of
the table following their 5-0 victory over
Norton & Stockton Ancients. Ellie Fletcher
gave the Feds an eleventh minute lead and they
went on to add further goals before half time Stockport County goalkeeper Denika Connolly claims a
through Demi Devereaux and Beth Donoghue, catch against Barnsley (Julian Barker).
with Erin Slade and Carra Jones both scoring
       during the second half.
The battle to keep out of the bottom three has become closer by the week and FC
United of Manchester picked up a valuable point from a goalless draw with Chorley.
The result means that FC United stay just outside of the bottom three but Chorley's ninth
draw of the campaign meant that they were unable to displace Leeds Utd from third.
Durham Cestria returned to form with a 3-1 win against Bradford City, who
probably need one more win in order to make sure of safety. After Nicki Gears had given
the Wildcats a second minute lead, Lily Crosthwaite added a goal in each half before
Harriet Jakeman netted a consolation for Bradford with seventeen minutes remaining.
Barnsley meanwhile gave their survival hopes a shot in the arm by beating
Alnwick Town 3-0. After a goalless first half, Barnsley scored twice within two minutes
of the restart through Courteney Csomor and Jodie Michalska, before Michalska wrapped
up the points by scoring her second.
However on Tuesday night, Barnsley were unable to take an opportunity to move
out of the bottom three when they were defeated 3-0 by Stockport County. Levi
Rathburn, Jess Battle and Olivia Dixon scored the goals for Stockport, for whom
goalkeeper Denika Connolly kept a clean sheet on her debut, but the win for Stockport was
marred with the news that defender Megan Landing will be out for several months with a
       knee injury.
Durham Cestria meanwhile climbed up to third, thanks to a 5-2 success away to
Alnwick Town. Nicki Gears netted twice for Durham along with Megan Elliott, Jennifer
Knowles and an own goal, Emily Henderson and Lucy Bowman replying.
On Thursday, Liverpool Feds moved themselves to within one win of the title when
goals from Demi Devereaux and Beth Donoghue gave them a 2-1 victory away t0 Chorley.
       Division One Midlands
The top three in the table did not play on Sunday, so the main focus was on the other end
of the table and overall it was a good day for Leafield Athletic, who picked up an
important point when sharing a goalless draw with fourth placed Long Eaton Utd.
Leafield were further boosted by the news that the match between Wem Town
and Burton Albion - the two teams immediately below them and below the line -
finished in a 2-2 draw. Katie Doster and Laura Pennington were on target for Wem whilst
Burton scored through Millie Drinkhall and Hajrah Mahmood. Burton therefore stay one
point ahead of Wem but are four points behind Leafield, with two games left to play.
