over to several of the cart men and I can’t understand the Gallic

but I know she is talking and laughing about the crazy

American who is still on Alabama time because she keeps

pointing to her wrist and then cocking her head in my

direction. I bet it made her day.

M gets back from her odyssey

and is pretty bedraggled but in

good spirits. She and Kevin

have really hit it off. He says

he (at 51) so is too young for

her but he has a friend that he

can fix her up with who is

older. She asks Kevin how

many horses he has and he

says only one but his friend

has sixteen. Kevin’s face is

unlined and his

healthy color is

pleasing but his

lack of teeth is a

definite drawback.

Anyway they had a

lot of laughs and

she gave him a £5

tip.
