Much the same is true of the members of a Quaker Meeting, and also of a body of trustees. All our
various gifts and skills are needed, and the value of each needs to be valued by all. We are fortunate in
that our current group of 6 trustees includes Friends with knowledge of health and safety, buildings,
safeguarding and financial matters among other things. But, equally importantly, it includes Friends with
common sense, a sense of humour, the ability to work with others and, not least, the capacity to bring us
back to the need for spiritual discernment in all that we do.
In other words, we need all sorts of people with all sorts of gifts to serve as trustees. If you might be
interested in serving the Area Meeting in this way, or if you are just interested in this subject, I would be
very happy to talk to you about this.

Corporate responsibility
We are not for names, nor men, nor titles of Government, nor are we for this
party nor against the other … but we are for justice and mercy and truth and
peace and true freedom, that these may be exalted in our nation, and that
goodness, righteousness, meekness, temperance, peace and unity with God, and
with one another, that these things may abound.
